I was listening to NPR radio this evening when they did a segment on how authors and publishers are now using video trailers on youtube and elsewhere to market their books. So, I went to NPR's website and started clicking on the various book trailers HERE. I wanted some examples so I could see about doing one for my books.

One of those samples I clicked on was for a non-fiction book entitled The Shock Doctrine. I would urge those who are NOT of faint heart to watch the trailer on youtube.

I am excited at the idea of using this kind of marketing. I ahd already decided to use myspace with my reading excerpts from WindWords of Wyoming, but had not thought of this way to use youtube.

I am very disturbed at the subject matter, yet glad the Shock Doctrine has been written. It sounds like a very important book.

It's one of the most important books of this generation. Naomi has blown the whistle
on a failed foreign policy based on economic greed. The "Chicago Boys" include
Alan Greenspan, Milton Friedman, Thomas Friedman and others who have created
economic disasters in other countries as well as corrupting our own.

Think of the cigar-chomping top-hatted capitalist heading the big corporations sitting
on the moneybags which smotheri the worker and you get the idea.

It's the ghost of Ayn Rand doing damage to the American economy, stealing the jobs by
sending them overseas and when other countries don't behave send in the marines.
Another book "Economic Hit Man" would be good in conjunction with this one.
