I figure you Americans have almost recovered by now from the Bush-Gore fiasco, so it's time to introduce something equally contentious. There you have it. Vote Spaw or vote William Shatner for most sexy man in 2001. Do not vote frivolously or without thoroughly informing yourself first on this utterly crucial issue! The very survival of your country may hinge upon the results.

Now, I know that William Shatner is a Canadian, but don't let that worry you...he's a movie star fer chrissake. He's like Schwarzenneger. It no longer matters where he was born.

And he starred on an American-made prime-time TV show, so if that ain't good enough, I don't know what is.

A vote for Shatner is a vote for international understanding, whereas a vote for Spaw is a vote for...ummm...well, geez...

Hell, I don't know what it's a vote for. The mind boggles.

Anyway, don't let that stop you. Git out thar and vote!!!

I have to vote for Spaw, for many reasons. One is that there are no possums allowed on the Enterpsie which is really unfair, and the other is that Shatner couldn't blow one if he swallowed the tail first, cuz of how he is so serious. Furthermore, Shatner never fine-tuned a fourbarrel or drove a nail in a glasspak to make a '59 BelAir sound like a racing car in his life!! Nor faked a main, I am sure. And Shatner is fat, while Spaw is lean and tan and has a sixpack. Or two. Under his chin!!

You know, I don't know if I should say this publicly, but I think William Shatner looks a lot like Rick Fielding. Of course, I may be mistaken because I've seen Fielding only once, at a time when he was "indisposed"... Well, take a look at Fielding's pictures here (click), and tell me if you agree.

Gotta vote for Spaw too. I will qualify my vote by saying that I have *no* idea what Spaw looks like, so I have to base my votes on personality alone. Spaw is gregarious, funny as all hell, and fun to watch (even when he's riled up).

Whereas Shatner has no personality at all. ;D

By God, that is a quote to remember! Take note, narcissistic males everywhere...

We just phoned in to the Shatner headquarters to get his comment on coming up a poor third, or perhaps tied for 4rth....with Woody Allen. His first words were "What, YOU again? I thought I told you NEVER TO CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN!!! YOU, STUPID, F..." We are unable at this time to quote his further comments, which rambled on for some time and had little or nothing to do with the main election issue, namely his sexiness as compared to Spaw, etc.

We do feel, however, that Shatner is doing himself no favour by demonstrating poor grace under pressure...not the sort of behaviour that wins elections.

Oh boy, what a decision....over the years, Shatner has gone from being an idiot to being an idiot with jowels. On the other hand, Spaw is...indescribable. I can't thank Joe Offer for the picture, since I had been visualizing him as looking a lot like Spider Robinson. This is a tough one. What people elsewhere don't realize is that William Shatner is the epitome of Canadianness -- bad dresser, bland character, and pretentions to rule the universe under the guise of being an American. This makes him very, very attractive to us. He has also rebounded from his disabilities, such as being wooden, in ways that would make Pinocchio proud. On the other hand, there is catspaw. And after cleaning off that hand, I would have to raise it and vote my conscience. Shatner. The Heron votes for Spaw, so that evens it out: she says that he worried about her when she was in the clutches of Betelgueusian aliens, which is more than Shatner, who actually had a ship that could make it to Betelguesian territory and lay it waste, and sat on his duff, and did zero. So the Heron goes for Spaw. 1-1 in the Northern reaches.

These votes are getting very hard to count. A vote for "Swap" is not a vote for Spaw, it's a spoiled ballot. Got that? Furthermore, it is contradictory to state that one is going along with khandu, and then to vote for Swap, when khandu voted for Shatner!

Man, this is gonna make Florida look well-regulated in comparison. The lawyers are going to have a field day.
