Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: mooman Date: 18 Dec 02 - 03:59 AM Dear Max, Very best wishes to yourself and Emily for the coming arrival and much support for you in resolving your remaining challenges during the coming year. It is an absolute credit to you that you managed to keep Mudcat going through all of this and you have my utmost admiration for your perseverence and tenacity. All the very best also for Christmas and the New Year. Richard (mooman) |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Dave Bryant Date: 18 Dec 02 - 12:24 PM Congratulations Max & Emily. I hope you still manage to have a great christmas and that the New Year turns out to be fantastic for you. |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Bill D Date: 18 Dec 02 - 03:29 PM Max...serious note here, which I shall also PM and email...just in case. You know how close I am...and I have a VERY large van if "moving stuff" should become a sudden need. Obviously, there are days when other things might interfere, but you never know if you don't ask!...I might even be able to scare up some warm bodies. Congratulations, and keep in touch. |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Giac Date: 18 Dec 02 - 06:15 PM Other than all that, Max, how's it been goin'? **Grin** I like Taj Lightning and hope it's a boy!! Congratulations to you, Emily, Alexis and the approaching little 'un. Mary |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Jeri Date: 18 Dec 02 - 07:53 PM And Bill's van even works sometimes! (Meow - we really are a family, aren't we!) I kinda like Taj Lightening myself. You can call him Taj, or TL or TaLi. When he pitches baseball, he can be "Taj 'Greased' Lightening'." Lilli Ani has too many 'ee's in it, and she'd probably be called "Lil 'Orphan' Ani" by other kids even if she won't be an orphan. My name isn't all that weird and other kids called me "Jeri Jean the Jelly Bean" just because it rhymed. Glad my name wasn't Jacko Switt or something. Children are cruel... |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Bill D Date: 18 Dec 02 - 08:01 PM hmmmppff! Jeri..after 2...that's TWO fuel pumps, it works ok, mostly...sort of....usually (yeah, we are family....and it gets bigger..my 20 yr.old kid, Darriel just agreed to be part of a moving party if needed...and you KNOW he is big enuf...*grin*) |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: MMario Date: 18 Dec 02 - 09:08 PM And with Shadowmonk around - you won't need ladders for anything! *grin* |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: katlaughing Date: 18 Dec 02 - 10:18 PM I think Lilly Ani sounds Hawaiian...almost like the beautifully musical name of the last Hawaiian Queen, Liliakalani(sp). And, I really like Taj Lightning. Though Lightening might be better since he will be lightening your wallet, as all kids do.**BG** |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Genie Date: 18 Dec 02 - 10:27 PM Max, your landlord gets the Ebenezer Scrooge Award (or maybe the Grinch Award) for this year, in my book. Why would having an infant justify that kind of rent increase? Any frustration with Mudcat's technical glitches has subsided, now that I know, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story." I'll try to send a donation before the end of the year (or maybe just order another CD set.) Mazeltov! Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? I got it!!!!! Taj Lightning Beaverboy Spiegel Yeah....that's better.........and just think how popular he'll be with the girls!!!!!!!!!!! Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: GutBucketeer Date: 18 Dec 02 - 11:16 PM I'm at a loss for words. Just Incredable! Do you think she/he will be a New Years Baby? :-) Good Luck with the... New Family New Occupation New House and New Year! JAB |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 19 Dec 02 - 10:14 AM Wow. What a story. It does seem like that landlord is taking unfair advantage of your situation--and a grace period ought to come into play. I'd suggest that with all of this chaos that there are probably at the very least tax advantages to be had. Might be worth it to hire an accountant to do the taxes, if you didn't do that already. Congratulations on the baby--such a wonderful conclusion to the year! SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Marion Date: 19 Dec 02 - 12:57 PM Congratulations Max! I hope you have a boy, cause the boy name is funnier. Marion |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Mrs Cobble Date: 19 Dec 02 - 01:56 PM Congratulations Emily and Max. Blessings to all your family hope you have a wonderful 2003. |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: momnopp Date: 19 Dec 02 - 02:02 PM And speaking of tax advantages, if s/he's born before the end of the year, you can claim him/her as a dependent (well, Emily can, anyway) and it might make the tax bug bite a little gentler. But seriously, Max -- congrats and best wishes for much love and peace in your household; wherever it may end up being. Depending on the timing, you can probably count on me and Dylan to join BillD and the short, little dude (Darriel) to help out. Just don't try and do it on December 28th! Many blessings upon all of your assorted, little heads. Love, JudyO |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Melani Date: 19 Dec 02 - 02:07 PM Congratulations, Max and Emily! You have survived and prospered! |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: SharonA Date: 19 Dec 02 - 02:46 PM Holy cannoli! What great news!! Congratulations, Max, Emily, Alexis and baby-to-be!!! I've got to agree with Jeri: those baby names you propose are prime candidates for teasing-targets once the kid goes to school. But hey, if you want to shell out even more money for the child psychiatrist, it's your nickel... :^) Seriously, though, if you need another hand to help with the move when it happens, please let me know. I'm only an hour away! I can't lift heavy boxes (because of the lupus) but I can surely help pack 'em and unpack 'em. In the meantime, a pox on your rotten landlord for charging extra for a fetus, fer chrissakes!!! Here I thought that the baby-to-be's residence was Emily; if anybody should be charging rent, she should! *G* Anyway, best wishes to you, Max, and to your family, for a happy and PROSPEROUS new year!! Sharon |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Amos Date: 20 Dec 02 - 12:35 PM Sharon: Dimes to donuts the landlord's a Republican; they abjure principle when profit looms. You are quite right. Emily should be charging the landlord the privelege; and in fact, a fetus is not a tenant in any legal sense and the guy could face a serious breach of contract suit in small claims if anyone had the energy to prosecute it, IMHO (but I am not a lawyer). Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 20 Dec 02 - 01:01 PM May the new year shine brightly on you and the family, Max. You have a great attitude and it sounds as though you've got love and support to see you through. I wish I lived closer, cause I'd be there in a shot to help you move. Just name the date and time, and I'll be there'll be others to carry the stuff to Bill's van! (and I think Taj Lightning's a GREAT name!) |

Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Bill D Date: 20 Dec 02 - 06:07 PM Taj Lightning's as good as "Moon Unit" or "Dweezle"...better, I'd say |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Genie Date: 20 Dec 02 - 08:52 PM BTW, Max, isn't a baby mudcat called a "minnow?" I think Taj Lightning or Alexis sounds a lot better! *BG* |

Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Marion Date: 05 Jan 03 - 01:45 AM Any news on the Mudkitten? Max, although I said above that I liked the name Taj Lightning, I'm starting to worry that if you're too obviously trying to predestine him to be a bluesman, he'll rebel and listen to nothing but pseudo-Celtic relaxation CDs. Marion |
Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: GUEST Date: 09 Jan 03 - 03:01 PM Maybe it was a hermaphrodite. Nothing to be embarrassed about; it happens every day. But that would probably make its name Taj Ani or Lilly Lightning, both of which are far more catchy than the original ones. |

I hope there's someone around to wear them pretty soon! Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Max Date: 21 Jan 03 - 01:44 AM Well, Monday (the due date) came and went with no baby. Doctor's appointment in the AM, and Emily is going to beg to be induced. They may want to wait at least another week, but we hear begging can sway this particular hospital. So it looks like any day now. I'll certainly let you all know as soon as I can. Thank you for all your kind words and cards and gifts. We're very excited... |

Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Big Mick Date: 21 Jan 03 - 08:05 AM Yes Tink, I understand that. But Max spoke of her as in the present, just waiting for her to move her royal backside out of the the snuggy environment she is currently habitating in. Get used to it, Max. You will spend a great deal of your time waiting once she makes her appearance.............hahahahaha. Mick |

Subject: RE: BS: A Mudcat Baby????? From: Bassic Date: 21 Jan 03 - 09:12 AM In 1981, my wife and I were visiting a close friend and his very pregnant wife. This was their first child and one of the first of our friends to start their family so it was all quite new to us. Out of curiosity I asked if I could feel the "bump" and ended up giving mum (who was feeling very tired and frustrated at the wait) and the "bump" a friendly cuddle for about half an hour. It was a lovely feeling and mum relaxed and was asleep fo most of the time. My wife and I then went home only to be telephoned about an hour and a half later to say that labour had started as soon as we had left and the baby (a girl)had been born in the ambulance on the way to the hospital!! Ever since then I have been know as "The Inducer" amongst my circle of friends and frequently get asked to "lay on hands" in order to bring on a late delivery and so far, every time I have done it, a baby has been born soon after!!! So Max and Emily, I am placing my hands against the screen rite now and thinking "new baby" thoughts.............................(I guarantee that the baby will be born............ soon). Good luck and best wishes. Gordon |
