Subject: RE: BS: How did you choose your mudcat name? From: leftydee Date: 15 Jan 06 - 06:33 PM It has nothing to do with which hand I use. It's my politics. I consider myself to be quite a bit to the left of today's political parties in the USA. I believe it's the true patriotic path. I believe in America, and I believe in the family of man. I think we have an obligation to each other and if we, in our zeal for each other, occasional pay a welfare fraud then so be it. I also think we have the obligation to protect each other from those that would do us harm, those that abuse us or take advantage. I think America is a teriffic idea that still offers promise after all these years. Greed and bigotry are the only things that stand in the way of that promise. |

From: autolycus Date: 15 Jan 06 - 06:39 PM Been buying 2ndhand books for 40+years,2ndhand records ditto, will look nearly anywhere, like doing serendipity in libraries(reference section) a,d among my own volumes, collect quotes and quotation books, the former into my own self-indexing notebooks. My lady-friend cut out a quotation about Shakespeare's Autolycos, where he's described as a "snapper-up of unconsidered trifles". That's what she thought I was doing, the trifles bit being her considered opinion. I offer Offer trifles, so it looked (w)right. |
