Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Andy Jackson Date: 11 Mar 05 - 04:52 PM Just be thankfull those of you with School age Children, that you don't live on the Isle of Wight. Their Easter holiday starts the Friday after Easter!!! Yes the Friday after. They have Good Friday and Easter Monday off then back to school for a couple or three days then break up for two weeks.... Watch out, it is planned to spread to the rest of the country. Could make a pooh of a certain Easter Festival. I've lost my right hand woman for the week before as it is... |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Andy Jackson Date: 11 Mar 05 - 04:55 PM Sorry Chris, I cant comment on the state of the roads, I'm already here see? If I was coming to Miskin I wouldn't start from out in the North Sea!!! Don't rush whatever you do, we will still be up whenever you arrive. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: MBSLynne Date: 11 Mar 05 - 05:28 PM Personally, I think they should make Easter a fixed date...it seems so silly that it moves around as much as it does. And I can see the point of the Isle of Wight's move this year...we've only had four weeks of this half term and the summer term is going to be incredibly long. Love Lynne |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Hawker Date: 17 Mar 05 - 12:49 PM H Miskinites, Bad news here I am afraid, or good news, depending on who you are and how you look at it! I will be unable to come to Miskin!!!!!! Sorry, No Corn Dolly workshops from me this year. Do have a go at lace making though, its fantastic! and Jillie and the lace babes are lovely! (so Kevin says) I go a phone call this morning telling me that I am going into Hospital on Wednesday and having my long awaited knee op. I will be home Thursday, but remembering the last op on the other knee, wont be feeling like festivalling until at least Monday and definately not upto running a workshop. I shall sit with a bottle of port and my feet up and think of you all. Have a great time, I know it will be brilliant and I am Gutted to miss it, but delighted that I am getting my knee sorted too!!!!! mixed emotions! Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Scooby Doo Date: 17 Mar 05 - 01:03 PM Lucy, Good luck with the operation,we will all be thinking of you and miss your cheerful face. Take care. Yas |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Andy Jackson Date: 17 Mar 05 - 01:59 PM Bad luck Lucy, you will be sorely missed. Not just for the corndollies but your ability to be in several places at once and your lovely smile. I've got your name down for a dance next year though, love to all, Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Andy Jackson Date: 17 Mar 05 - 05:17 PM I've had a request to allow impromptu Morris at Miskin......Allow? I would positively encourage such a thing. In days of Yore we had a very solid dance base. Things have changed though and sadly I cant guarantee suitable wet weather contingency plans. If anyone wants to bring Kit on the chance of a dance then we have plenty of room on the courtyard. And if it rains you'll just have to drown your sorrow. Or of course, carry on dancing as they mad buggers from Pompey did some years ago (see photos on site) Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2005 From: Scooby Doo Date: 17 Mar 05 - 05:36 PM I remember that year Andy you stood in the middle of the dancers and got soaking wet, mind those Pompey dances would dance in any weather.Yas |
