Sorry for that - I didn't notice.

I would like to add, before people get the wrong idea about the link, that the video itself contains no adult content, being an interview with donald trump on the subject of the mess in Iraq.

It is challenging and enlightening, coming as it does from someone so clearly switched on to reality.

Depends how easily distracted you are I guess ;-)

You think Donald Trump is clearly switched on to reality? I can't watch videos, so can't comment on content. I'm certainly anti-Iraq war, but anytime I've seen Trump pontificating it's been clear that his views are narrowly focussed on money, power and social positioning. Which I suppose might make him uniquely qualified to comment on the Bushies...

Sorry, Lox, I reworded the above. As I had it, it did sound as though I meant the video was adult in nature, too. I didn't. Just meant the thumbnails. Folks with dialup appreciate a heads up about videos to load, though.

Here's is a different link with some text and a video to click on if one so desires.:-)

I have to say that Trump isn't quite the clueless asshole I pegged him for. Quite frankly, he stated the case beautifully. That was truly a well spoken statement and damn is he ever right. Kudos, Mr. Trump! Please keep it up, we need to put major pressure on the White House and on Washington.

'In a scathing attack against George Bush, real-estate billionaire Donald Trump branded the President as the worst in US history.

"Well, I think Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States. And I just don't understand how [the Democrats] could have lost that election."

Donald Trump, the man behind TV show 'The Apprentice', blasted the Bush administration during a CNN interview.

"Everything in Washington has been a lie. Weapons of mass destruction, it was a total lie. It was a way of attacking Iraq, which he thought was going to be easy and it turned out to be the exact opposite of easy." adds Trump.'

From here.

However, IMO, he's gotta do something about that hair.

Jesus Murphy. That is one hell of a good interview. I shall have to revise my hostile gut-level feelings about Donald Trump (I'm very prejudiced against rich and famous high-rollers in suits, and I freely admit it). The man has the guts to tell it like it is. What a refreshing thing to see.

By the way, I don't think the Democrats really did lose the last election. I don't think so in the least. I think they really won it, but it was fixed by tampering with the computerized voting results in Ohio and Florida. Exit polls certainly indicated that quite strongly. Thank Karl Rove and a few other clever boys in high places for pulling that one off.

Whether Kerry would have been much better than Bush if he'd been elected remains hard to say, however. He probably would have been somewhat better, but we'll never know.

I know one thing. Bush did not deserve to be re-elected in 2004, and that fact that he was was a travesty. And that's the way the rest of the world sees it too...an incomprehensible travesty. This Republican administration has become the loneliest and most feared and hated government in the entire world since the invasion of Iraq. No joke. Donald Trump knows that, because he does a lot of traveling, and in this interview he has the guts to say it. Bravo, Mr Trump.

Unfortunatly, only a tiny number of Americans hold passports. Bush bragged that he had never had one. Is that why he didn't go to Viet Nam? :-)

So... the question remains...

Are we going to get to see Donald Trump call The President into his office...???

...And sit spellbound in rapt anticipation as he turns quickly towards George W. Bush after he's motioned for George to 'be seated'...???

...And after a gut rending silence...

Starkly and harshly retort...

Mr. Bush...            ...You're fired.

Just think of the ratings!

Is Donald seeking a political office? It's widely know that Bush is the worst Pres & it's widely known he's not to bright either. It's also no sweat for Donald to bash Bush, he's got nothing that he can lose because of it, who's gonna take anything away from him that's gonna make him care.

It seems possible that having someone who is successful financially and popular in the American culture (don't count me in on that!) think that badly of him might hurt or dismay Bush in a way that the 'little people' don't.

I'm with Ebbie and those who now have a new admiration for The Donald after watching that interview...distractions not withstanding. He nailed it. No holds barred. Had Bush on the mat in 3, 2, 1. Don't mind me, I'm just a little punchy after that interview. I didn't disagree with one thing he said, although, I quit right after his political comments. Maybe he is thinking about running. He wouldn't have any trouble raising funds for a campaign. He'd be better than the current shrub, although at this point, I think almost anyone would be. I blogged on another site a while back about this guy in PA, who got a visit from the Secret Service after he'd written a letter to a local paper's editor; a practice he's had for many years. I'll see if I can hunt it up. I forget the specifics, but it was a no-brainer that he wasn't a threat to the president or the country. All these wasted resources. I once saw a show on PBS about Air Force 1 and how much it costs to maintain it just on the ground each day. Am I alone in thinking that Bush, jr. is the flyingest president we've ever had? Does he ever stay in DC? Think about how much it costs to fly. The FBI has to secure sites wherever he goes. Guys have to walk hand-in-hand down the runways of every airport he's going to visit. Limos. I'm sure that costs a bundle. I also think he's the most insecure president we've ever had...always has to have a roomful of glad-handers patting him on the back. And I'm surprised that the military puts up with his show-boating considering how his national guard duty went. Do you know that that "mission-accomplished" photo op where he flew onto that aircraft carrier in that two-seater jet kept the troops returning from their missions onboard that carrier for an extra month waiting for the president to arrive?

"Do you know that that "mission-accomplished" photo op where he flew onto that aircraft carrier in that two-seater jet kept the troops returning from their missions onboard that carrier for an extra month waiting for the president to arrive?"

Really Wordsmith? Please tell us how. By the bye the aircraft he flew in was an S-3B Viking - crew of four.

According to CNN:

"The Lincoln, currently en route to NAS North Island, has been at sea for nearly 10 months, after participating in both the Afghanistan and Iraq war theaters. The president is scheduled to spend the night on the aircraft carrier, which is based in Everett, Washington, but is stopping in San Diego first.

Bush will leave the carrier before it berths at North Island Friday. The ship will return to Everett on May 6."

Now he arrived onboard on the 2nd May and the Lincoln made home port on the 6th May - Where's the month that you are talking about Wordsmith?

The San Diego "stop" for the "Lincoln" would possibly be to fly off her Air Group. Returning UK carriers used to do this in Lyme Bay in the Channel with Fighter Squadrons flying the short hop to RNAS Yeovilton and the Strike Squadrons flying up to RNAS Lossiemouth.

Kendall,

Did US soldiers have to go through passport control?

And how the hell did they get all that Napalm through customs?

"what is the purpose of your visit sir?"

"I am here with the US army to try and consolidate a brutal puppet government because we don't like the popular leader Ho Chi Minh"

"Thankyou sir - did you pack your bags yourself?"

Back on topic:-

The interview shown is important because trump represents the american dream and the american establishment, being right at the heart of US economics.

He's not a lefty or an academic.

His perspective is different to that of many politicians, stemming as it does from self interest ultimately, with (arguably) a sense of altruism mixed up with his ego thrown in for good measure.

The phrase which stands out for me is "the whole world is desperate to make deals".

That's been the story of his life.

An interesting perspective on why negotiation and diplomacy are always best.

Bush didn't need a passport when he came to Australia - but even Aussie politicians needed to be vetted by the CIA and SS when Bush stumbled around Pariliment...

Funny how Secret Service breaks down to the acronym "SS", isn't it? All such governmental security organizations can be turned quite easily into tools of oppression. It simply requires that they be placed under an irresponsible and paranoid political leadership.

Is this the Susan Simpson scenario so suspensefully... so slowly sought? Seems so soundly sweet... slinging swift similes somewhat sententiously... supposing similarities succoring songbird's springtime serenades.
ttr

Susan Simpson

Sudden swallows swiftly skimming
Sunset's slowly spreading shade,
Silvery songsters sweetly singing
Summer's soothing serenade.

Susan simpson strolled sadately
Stifling sobs, suppressing sighs.
Seeing Stephen Slocum, stately
She stopped, showing some surprise.

"Say" said Stephen, "sweetest sigher:
Say, shall Stephen spouseless stay? "
Susan, seeming somewhat shyer,
Showed submissiveness straightway.

Summer's season slowly stretches,
Susan Slocum she –
So she signhed some simple sketches –
Soul sought soul successfully!

Good. Thanks for the positive impetous, Peace!

Actually tho... when I get to a tough part, and the 'right' word is ultra ellusive... I find that slightly peavish and pensive slouching can be quite effective! Also, since I get ideas for some of my songs while watching DVDs at home in a full on slouch, I will have to admit that I often AM a slouch at lyrics. A-Slouching I compose... A-slouching I... sorry... I must have lost my composure... have you seen it anywhere?

Judging by the transcript of the interview dianavan I doubt if the man is articulate enough to actually say that sentence, even to himself.

If that interview was an example of Trump blasting someone - it came across in print as being about as frightening as being threatened by a sheep. Incoherent rambling about how great everybody is, except for Bush (cool, trendy, the image the man wants to project - apart from the rug), absolutely nothing of any substance.

Trump, run for President, my giddy oath, mind you some here would richly deserve him. Complete and utter wanker - correction - Complete and utter rich wanker (makes him even more dangerous).
