My office is home to some 175 realtors....a decision was made to move to bigger and better space but some lunatic decreed the day be this Friday the 13th. I am a quivering wreck. My office will be in boxes, my office phone won't be working, I will have no order in my life over the weekend, and all in all - it's not a pretty thought. And I lose the view of the water I have had for over five years now and swap it for a view of the highway.......

Fairly typical Friday 13th perhaps? Just remembering to avoid black cats like the plague......

Black Cats are supposed to be LUCKY!
Me, I usually try to breath in and out at leas once every 60 seconds (dependant on what I am doing!)....... works every time for me.
Other than that it is the same sh1t another day!

Just kidding. The way I got myself out of superstitious rituals was to deliberately think or say things like- Oh, there's a black cat in my path. I'm going to have a good day today.

Eventually my brain just gave up.

I have 2 black cats whom I never walk under...but what happens if they walk OVER me?? Would seem only fair that they get the bad luck, eh?

I have to say that all in all Friday the 13th has generally turned out to be a good day for me in the past, so I look forward to it.

Being a staunch antitriskaidekaphobe I will:
- not wear odd socks or my vest inside out for the day
- establish ladders around the house so I can walk under them frequently
- pop down to the pet shop and replace our recently departed moggy with an all-black one
- go up to every priest I meet and shake him/her by the hand

Meanwhile, Nessie (another antitriskaidekaphobe) will be spending the whole 24 hours of the day on a plane to Australia.

I shall not go skydiving, hang-gliding, or rock-climbing. The fact that I've neither done nor have any intentions of ever doing any of those three activities is irrelevent. I still won't be doing them this Friday.

In my family we have always observed the day before Friday the thirteenth as "Thursday, the twelfth". Some of us extend this to honoring the following day as "Saturday, the fourteenth".

Is that what you mean?
