countess richard: thanks for a brilliant and educational juxtaposition. I will make no comment. Doubtless some will prefer one, some the other. And some will love both. But what a great thing is the internet when anyone can make that comparison at the click of a mouse.

There's not a similarly available recording of the other Padstow procession is there, that could be added here? Comparisons might be interesting, particularly in the slightly different rhyhms they use (or they did 30 years ago, I haven't been recently).
