Subject: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: SINSULL Date: 31 Oct 07 - 06:25 AM The Annual welcoming of Sir Micca. This year the theme will be pink (or red or shades thereof). Arrive around 6PM. Food, drink (pink champagne, of course in pink flutes), and lots of music. Who's in? Who needs a bed? Heads up! We may all finally get to meet the mysterious Alba. And I believe I will need some burly men to transport headless Jesus to Maeve's car. Now off to plan some pink food. Salmon? Jell-O? I am at a loss... Locals - come early. I plan to decorate Micca's "nest" appropriately. Anyone have an 8' pink teddy bear? SINS |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: curmudgeon Date: 31 Oct 07 - 07:05 AM Linn and I will most assuredly be there, and in need of a bed. I will be happy to assist in the moiving of HJ to Maev's car, but I do not wear pink, nor do I eat or drink same - Tom |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: ranger1 Date: 31 Oct 07 - 07:43 AM Tom, just put a pink carnation in your lapel. Trust me, you don't want to know what they'll drape you in otherwise! |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: GUEST,SINS Date: 31 Oct 07 - 08:09 AM Wise advice Tami. Even Seamus will wear pink. As will George. I have seen you eat salmon, Tom, and crab - both pinkish. If I could manage not to incinerate a roast, the center would be pink. An underdone turkey would be as well... |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: maeve Date: 31 Oct 07 - 08:12 AM Sinsull, would you kindly enlighten those of us who were not privy to earlier visits with the Illustrious Micca? What's this all about? maeve, with a pink face |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: Bat Goddess Date: 31 Oct 07 - 09:53 AM You SAID pink or red or shades thereof...Tom is NOT a pinko -- he's a RED! I think the only pink article of apparel that I own are a pair of pink flamingo slippers -- that are absolutely suicidal (especially if stairs are involved) to wear. The red cat likes to play with them, though... Oh, Maeve, Micca enjoys the color pink about as much as Tom does. Linn |

I know for a fact that you have a PINK Flamingo costume that runs on batteries. Maeve - Micca is our annual visitor from the UK known mostly for his rendition of the Gladiator Song and a bare-assed waltz through the co-ed bathrooms at Ramblewood. His yearly trek through the Northeast is eagerly awaited by a number of us 'Catters. You will love him! M |

Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: wysiwyg Date: 31 Oct 07 - 12:43 PM Pink food, hm, that would be cream (or bisque) of tomato soup, strawberry jello or pudding whipped with whipped cream, strawberry jam on top of vanilla ice cream. Chili with sour cream stirred in, borscht, pickled eggs.... Brie with strawberry or raspberry on the side, cream cheese drizzled with salsa..... there's a nice chipotle cream sauce with cheese melted in.... Isn't there a drink called a Pink Flamingo? Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: Bat Goddess Date: 04 Nov 07 - 07:50 PM Oh. Ma. Gawd!!! Well, I happen to be the proud possessor (?) of a 7 foot tall (3 foot wide) wildly pink stuffed flamingo. There IS a photo around somewhere of Micca in its embrace a few years ago. (It's been pining, pining...) It's currently living in a wing chair in the living room -- no room in the guest room (unless I find a home for a LOT more chaserai). (My theory of housekeeping is that if you have a giant pink stuffed flamingo around, nobody notices that the house is an ungodly mess. So far it's worked.) Micca, with luck, by next weekend you should be able to get to the guest room bed. Linn |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: SINSULL Date: 05 Nov 07 - 06:20 AM There is always a bed for you, Holly. Bring some pears - Jacqui asked. |

We've very few pears left, sorry Jacqui! I don't do pink except in the garden, but will consider appropriate potluck donations. maeve |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: GUEST,SINS at work Date: 05 Nov 07 - 08:03 AM I should never post before having my second cup of coffee in the AM. Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: SINSULL Date: 05 Nov 07 - 07:52 PM If the dogs behave in a crowd (behave is loosely defined as not biting or pooping) and if they get along reasonably with cats, they are welcome. The backyard is fenced in so they can run - keep in mind the skunk is still in residence. There is always kibble and water and champagne for well behaved canines. I am fascinated by the decorating possibilities of Pink Post-It Notes. SINS |

Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: Jeri Date: 08 Nov 07 - 07:29 PM Not a flamingo, but... This falls into the "I Shit You Not" category. I had to get a mammogram today. I was stopped at a light on Bridge St in Manchester, NH, waiting to turn left on Mammoth. I noticed a woman on the other side of the road divider, going the opposite way, and she was on the phone and moving very slowly. I looked in the direction she was looking. A poor lost lady turkey was wandering around the busy intersection, followed by a cop (I'm guessing an animal control person) with a very large butterfly net. (A small chicken would have fit, not a dinner-for-10-sized turkey.) I could tell, in the mere seconds I had the privilege of watching this, the officer was never ever going to do much beside meander around behind the bird like a shy but persistent stalker and prompt it to keep moving, possibly until somebody squashed it (or him). Manchester Turkey Drive. I went to my appointment. When I came back, there was no animal control person, no turkey, and miraculously, no stain on the road. Anyway, that got me thinking: maybe we should catch some pigeons, staple on stilts and spray paint them pink. Maybe somebody could see if that's legal. We could probably use one of those big butterfly nets. |

Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: GUEST,SINS at work Date: 09 Nov 07 - 08:04 AM Speaking of pink - the general consensus is that pink food will be too revolting to eat so there will be pink touches only. I did find plastic cutlery in a revolting shade of pink. PSSST Kendall...over here...through the chink in the wall. Why did you tear the siding off the house? I took one look and said to Seamus "Kendall had a fit". He nodded knowingly. |

That way it will remain a Cellar's Market and certain real estate people will continue to prosper. Just don't mention the crawl space and people will still buy. If there are any strange noises, the stories of the place being haunted should help it move. So, Let The Cellar Beware! WHERE? In the basement, of course! But a crawlspace can be ANYWHERE, by rights of secret passage! So who knows when or where we'll next emerge! BE AFRAID!....... |

Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: jacqui.c Date: 10 Nov 07 - 09:35 AM A good time was had by all at the Press Room last night. Micca was in good voice and regaled the assembly with some good stuff. Alba got talking to a fellow Scot who turned up in a kilt and did a couple of good numbers. She also made contact with a lot of old friends there. We got back to Maine about 10.30 last night. Having dropped Micca and Alba at Mary's I got home to find the Cap'n waiting up (not with rolling pin in hand, fortunately). Today we're off to look for craft fairs and yard sales before getting ready for the pink evening. |

Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: maeve Date: 11 Nov 07 - 11:13 AM It was a delightful evening, of course. The energy level was a wee bit frightening to those of us who live a quiet life, the welcome was warm, and there was an abundance of very pink clothing. I was greeted at the door by a moving, glowing, flamingo and Jacqui (also moving and glowing), who had made me a wee lap afghan from the remains of her latest Mudcat afghan, and by Sinsull, Jeri, Alba, Micca, and Kendall who offered hugs (happily accepted.) TruBrit and her True Love were there looking elegant and bearing delicious Shepherd's Pie. Curmudgeon and Bat Goddess made gorgeous music and enlighted me regarding the origin of the aforementioned statue-in-two-parts-now waiting-in-my-car. I was pleased to meet ranger1's friend and neighbor Kathy- what a lovely lady! The cats and all three dogs behaved well- as long as one kept a sharp eye out for doggy tongues on plates! I hope MaineDog can make dog-sitting arrangements for his pooch so he can join us another time. Lots of singing, lots of silliness, and a range of good food all contributed to the party atmosphere. There was a Very Pink Cake. I was treated to a private solo from ranger 1 which I enjoyed very much! Giok, Sinsull would probably love to have you call her today...She just loves to hear the telephone ringing. Everyone there should be "in the pink" after a very late night. They might even be up and making breakfast by now. Maybe. I think I'll leave now. maeve |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: GUEST,SINS,a GUEST on her own computer.... Date: 11 Nov 07 - 11:33 AM Well, yesterday started with a reprise of my first Getaway with Micca appearing in the "almost" altogether for Jude and me. Too much for this maiden lady so early in the AM. Pink is a vile color and there is/was a lot of it. Jacqui is in big trouble for both taking and posting those pictures. Lots of phone calls - Katlaughing, Bente, Severn, Leadfingers, that I know of. I was just too involved to chat much but thank you all joining in the fun. Holly's home made apple pie disappeared very quickly - very very nice. A beautiful fruit tart, miniature pastries were sampled but the pie was very very good. Jacqui's cake didn't. Deborah took it home to a houseful of non-discriminating teenagers. Lots of comfort food - Shepherd's Pie made with freshly killed shepherds, chili, antipasto, etc. Lots of music. Lots of stories. Kendall challenged Jeri to play his 12-string and was shocked to see she could. Ashoken Fairwell on guitar, fiddle and concertina. Holly spent the evening weaving German stars of pink and white which she then left for each guest. So beautiful. Micca sang and joked and laughed. he is as huggable as Kendall. So good to have him back. Jude is soaking up the ambiance and occasionally slipping into Gaelic. I have learned to nod a lot. heh heh She makes Jacqui and me look absolutely normal. Headless Jesus has gone to live on a farm but a herd of penguins is infiltrating the places where tiny nuns used to roam. I have to find some new friends. AND...Our Lady Of The Pepsi Bottle appeared. I understand that a selection of miniature wheel chairs, crutches, and canes is to follow. I REALLY have to find some new friends. Thank you all for making the PINK party a success. Seamus. Asha and Bandit had a lovely time. Nice to have such eager vacuum cleaners. Now to send them all home so I can get some sleep. Oh I almost forgot - Carly! I love the mouse. It is going to work with me tomorrow. All that glitters...Thank you! SINS |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: Tinker Date: 11 Nov 07 - 01:54 PM SINS, I wish I had a camera when Micca came down from the third floor to show Jarius and I his ensemble .... it was Midnight and Jarius is still shaking his head. Now the Fire Godess (half price) number I somehoe came home with is still in the bedroom... Sounds like it was wonderful .... I may have a few homesick penguins heading north to join you... tink |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: Jeri Date: 11 Nov 07 - 02:11 PM She put pink cotton candy in the mouse. It looked just like fiberglass insulation. As for Our Lady Of The Pepsi Bottle appeared. I understand that a selection of miniature wheel chairs, crutches, and canes is to follow." No comment. Just noticing. My bed was yelling at me across the miles, so I didn't sleep over. Lacked sleep from the previous night and I slept really well when I got home. I miss breakfasts there, but sleeping is good. Wonder what happened to the quinoa. It would have worked as ravioli stuffing or somewhere else where nobody could see it. Thanks Mary, for a mostly insane and inarguably ugly party. |
Subject: RE: Pink Song Circle at SINSULL's 11/10 From: katlaughing Date: 11 Nov 07 - 02:21 PM The Diaphanous was perfect on Alba...quite beautiful, Tink. Great choice! I think they all need a lesson on how NOT to have colour clashes, though. Some of those combos were dreadfull, but I guess that IS the desired result, right?**bg** The dogs didn't seem to mind and were also beautiful, esp. the one with the flaggy tail, wow-bow! |
