Just received and thought I'd share.

There is anti Nuclear War demo at Lakenheath (about midway between Cambridge and Norwich) at 1pm Sunday 18 May. There will be aTheatre of War bus circling the base and passengers are encouraged to bring items (dolls, ribbons, banners, etc.) to hang on the fence.

Lakentheath is home to up to 110 B61 free fall nuclear bombs and has been involved in bombing of Iraq and Afghanistan. There will be speakers after the bus tour and then entertainment, picnics, etc.

Not exactly an environmentally friendly complete and utter waste of time then.

I think the bus, picnics, entertainment and dolls oughta do it - The USAF will obviously take their nuclear weapons back to the USA when faced with a display of this magnitude.

Take the nukes back to the USA? But, that would mean, relatively, a much longer delivery time if an order is placed. When you need a nuke, delivery time is of the esscence.

You betcha! Why, Scotland might declare war against England again. Them Scots are tricky people; you can't tell the boys from the girls. And who knows when you might have to nuke Inverness or the Orkneys?

The bus is making only one circuit. They are encouraging cyclists to bring bikes. The bus is useful to those of us who are not as mobile as most.

I myself fully supported the Greenham Common protests and really have to say I have enormous admiration for those involved in it. Those involved in the Lakeheath protest receive the same admiration.

If nobody protests against nuclear weapons the Idiots In Power will begin to believe (even MORE strongly!) that the public accepts the use of such weapons...
