Several of you have written email saying that you have sent donations for Catspaw. I went to Mailboxes, etc yesterday morning and mailbox was still empty. I went to the manager of the place and it seems that the employee that I rented the box from "forgot" to take the available tag off the back of the box and therefore if any mail had arrived before Friday at 4 pm, it has been returned to sender. Well, you would have been proud of the "cat" fit I threw right there in the middle of the place. The manager is giving us the mailbox free and writing out a check for the $60 I paid for it and sending it to Karen Patterson. So, if any of you get your donations back, just send them in again. The address is good. The box has had it's little tag removed and we are in business. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope none of you came to the conclusion that Clarence had hallucinated a non existent mailbox after spending too much time rolling in the catnip.

Well, Clarence, I tell ya what it looks like to me....Whoever it is that's looking out for the 'Spaw clan arranged for this less than apt employee to "forget" to detag the box, cause you to raise hell, and get another $60 bucks heading to where it's needed.... Some of them "Powers That Be" do work in strange and mysterious ways, don't they?

All ya'all remember that just cause the big cat's is back in the litter box raisin' a ruckus don't mean they don't need a little boost. Let's make sure them cards and letters get remailed and maybe while ya got the envelope open anyway ya might have a little spare from last week, huh?

Note to 'Spaw, we don't even wanna hear it...Your Maw-in-Law said you'd probably have kittens over it and like I said in another post somewhere, just put it on your list of things to get over and shut up!!

Of course, if you make that check out to Pat Patterson he might have to see it to endorse it. If you make it out to Karen, she might just slip it by him.

I suspect we are wrong, but some of us think Catspaw might be uncomfortable with such concrete help. Most of us would therefore like to remain anonymous and let this be our "random act of kindness" for the day. Well, it ain't so random, but it fits 'cause who the hell would send of a check to someone they never met to help them through a hard time?

Yeah Clarence, mine came back. Interestingly enough it got stuck to another letter to the Atlanta Better Business Bureau. I've sent both off, mailed at the Post Office Sunday evening. Hope it works this time.

You guys are the best. The only up side to this is because of the "cat" fit I pitched, Mailboxes, Etc. is on the hook for $60 to Karen and Pat. I will be checking the box every evening. I checked earlier today and nada. However, the tag is off the back of the box and they did pull the mail and check it in my presence. Probably trying to avoid another ugly scene courtesy of an enraged catter. Will keep you posted on the arrivals and acknowledge privately to each of you now that I have discovered the personal page feature of the site. Love to all......Clarence

That is the advantage of living so far away. Mine probably hasn't arrived yet. But if it has and was sent back, it will take a few more weeks to make another round trip. I hope the mailbox will still be in order.

REQUEST: PLEASE DON'T REFRESH THE PREVIOUS CATSPAW THREADS!! I saw a thread called "Catspaws Relapse" last night and almost had one myself before I looked at the date and time.

Here it is Friday, May 28th and I have not yet seen my letter returned. I will put a trace on the money order today and also call my local post office to see if they can trace the letter in some way. Bummer!!! But hang in there, it will find its way there sooner or later!

Never mind!! In the true spirit of snail mail it finally came in today's mail. I shall now go to the Post Office in the AM and put this misdirected piece in another envelope and try one more time!!! (and as often therafter as needed to get it where it needs to go! We are after all dealing with the USPO here!)

Any news from that Post Office Box? I think it was Sunday AM I posted my previously returned donation. Even the US Postal Service is quicker than that.

RiB, I don't think you know the true slowness of the USPO. I sent my letter two weeks ago, on Saturday, the following Thursday Clarence informed us of the error and that all mail had been returned to sender. I got mine today and it has been enroute for over a week on the return trip!! And for all this good service we get to pay yet another penny! Sheeeeeesh........
