. Artist: Hanson Jennifer
Song: Just One Of Those Days
Album: Jennifer Hanson Jennifer Hanson Sheet Music
Jennifer Hanson CDs

I'm sittin' in this traffic jam
'cause I took so long to find my keys
And left the house fifteen minutes late
Puttin' on my makeup in the rearview
Dropped mascara on my white pants
When I slammed on the breaks

My cell phone ring that call that I'd been waiting for
But my hands were occupied
I think I might as well accept
Right here and now
Today might not be one of those in which I hit my stride

I don't know why I just can't
Get it all together sometimes
But I not one to whine
I'll just keep holdin' on this roller coaster ride
It's really comin' down on my parade
It's just one of those days

Left mt check card on the counter
Got no cash so much for lunch
I got a caffeine buzz from tryin' to stay alive
And my boyfriends got his ex
And I ran into her today of course how perfect
She was dressed up to the nines

The elevator shaft is where my key's are now
Don't ask me how but I'm stuck at work
'Til I find the maintenance man
He'll be so proud to help
But he won't smell too good this time of day
Especially without that hot beer in his hand

I don't know why I just can't
Get it all together sometimes
But I not one to whine
I'll just keep holdin' on this roller coaster ride
It's really comin' down on my parade
It's just one of those days

Hey yeah

I'm not one to whine
I'll just keep holdin' on the roller coaster ride
It's really comin' down on my parade
It's just one of those days
Just one of those days
It's just one of those days

Fun with numbers.

It is said by some--not by me, certainly, but by some--that the number 666 is an evil number...the Mark of the Beast. People have been known to change their address which had that ominous number.

My question to all of you numerologists, especially as concerns religion and luck, is the number 666 like a horseshoe? If it is flipped over to become 999 does all the evil and scary stuff drain out so that it becomes a good number, or at least benign (as differentiated from B9, which sounds like a bingo number...that could be lucky)?

Just something else to frazzele one's mind!

I gather that the "good" counterpart of 666 is in fact 777 - don't ask me why, I'm a mathematician, not a numerologist.

After 12/12/12, further significant dates for those inclined to find patterns in totally random data might include 2/2/22, 3/3/33 etc.

In numerology, you would add the numbers up, thus:

6+6=12 1+2=3+6=9

Since 9 is the last of the core numbers in numerology, it is one of rather higher ideals, as in reaching some completion, to once again start a new cycle at zero. Some 9 attributes might include the following Humanitarian, compassionate, romantic, selfless, generous, philanthropic, loving, wisdom, idealist, artistic, spiritual healer, all allowing, other worldly, blending.

Whereas 9+9=18 1+8=9+9=18 1+8=9 So, hmmm...not sure if they are like a horseshoe or not, but it is interesting that 3 nines comes out to 9 and 3 sixes also come out to 9!**bg**

Well, openeing ceremony day, anyway. The soccer (football) competition started a day or two early. Maybe another sport or two as well, I have no idea.

I'll tell you about numerology! I made sure to be looking at my digital watch at 12:34:56 on 7/8/90! (right after midnight) Nothing happened. To be sure, I checked again the 2nd time (right after noon)

....but, Rapaire assures us that something significant DID happen somewhere in the universe at 08/08/08, so I guess all times are significant....somewhere. All of which seems to indicate that any particular time is relatively INsignificant in the larger view of things.

All of which indicates.. to me ..that we silly humans are able to manipulate those insignificant statistics to find relevance and correlations in any set of numbers...adding, subtracting, comparing and cross-linking until we think we have discovered some way of shedding light on the passing of our lives.

By the way...did you know that half of twelve is seven?
Really!
Honest!

Look!
XII

then.....

XII

no, I have no idea what the bottom half of twelve means, but I'll bet there are numerologists who can work out something...

The digits of every of every whole number which a multiple of nine can be reduced to nine:

2142 > 2+1+4+2 = 9

92097 > 9+2+0+9+7 = 27 > 2+7 = 9

58841001 > 5+8+8+4+1+0+0+1 = 27 > 2+7 = 9

It's the Chinese fixation with the number 8 as a lucky number that fixed the opening date for the Bejing Olympics. Not so lucky for the poor rice farmers in the surrounding countryside who are having their water diverted into those nice fountains.

888 is a very significant to the Chinese. 8 is a lucky number, and, as one Chinese person told me, 888 is the luckiest possible number. (I would think 88,888,888 would be even luckier, but I'm not Chinese. Anyway, I don't suppose 88,888,888 would come up very often in the natural course of events.) People in China will pay a premium to have a phone number, or a house number, or a car license number, that ends in 888.

In 2005, the US Postal Service issued a stamp to commemorate the "Lunar" (i.e. Chinese) New Year. Stamps cost 37 cents each then, and the stamps were sold in sheets of 24. This is unusual; most stamps come 10, 20 or 50 to a sheet. But 24 x $0.37 = $8.88 – which can't be a coincidence. This was pointed out to me by an anthropology professor who specializes in Chinese studies. (I work in the post office of a university.) However, I searched the information about the stamp at the USPS web site—they put out a press release for each new stamp—and I couldn't find that the significance of $8.88 was mentioned anywhere. So I guess it was meant to be an inside joke between the stamp designer and those familiar with Chinese culture.

But if the point had been to sell stamps, wouldn't they have expected to sell MORE stamps if they called attention to the fact that a sheet cost $8.88? But they didn't....

There is some mysterious politics going on here. Like, why did the USPS choose to call it a "Lunar" New Year stamp instead of a Chinese New Year Stamp, although it's clearly a Chinese-themed design? (Jews and Muslims follow a lunar calendar, too, but the design isn't Jewish or Islamic.) You'll see that China isn't mentioned until the 7th paragraph of the news release.

Sound can do some amazing things. It can affect people...(Ask any Folksinger, Oh s'cuse me, you ARE Folksingers(And Rockstars)...

And some even say that's how the pyramids got built. Crazy sons 'o beatches! With sound, at the right vibration, things become weightless...redickledockle you say, oh well, you can lead a stooge to the stage, but you can't make him Nyuk Nyuk. They WERE great weren't they? They made so much SENSE!

For further light reading, check out Herman Hemholtz, "On the Sensations of Tone" ... Scientific slacker believed that the rate of vibration affected the mind. Also, the "Sufi Message of Hazrat Inayat Khan", What NUMBNUMBS!

Of course, other ne're do wells like Mozart & Bach & 99.9% of SERIOUS tabla players feel the same way! Are ya with me Bill? REALITY! What a PILL! And let me tell yas, I know a thing or three about pills...(Or as BM used to say, "I told you once, and I told you twice, now, I'm not going to tell you a second time!)

And so, in the memory of Larry, Moe, and Curly Joe, I slap each of you on the forehead and aim two fingers toward your eyes(you're supposed to put your palm on your nose like a tomahawk and stop me) and I lovingly slap each of you upside the head and bid you sweet dreams...    OM KLEEM SHRIM LAKSHMI

The magic was spoiled for me some time ago. I was lying in bed with my brain in freewheel, when the announcer announced that it was "7/7/77!!! And that isn't going to happen again for a thousand years!!!"

But from outer space came the realisation that.. neither was 8/7/77! Nor any other date either.

My 'lucky' number was 7, but nothing good happened, except I lived past it.

I have a Hong Kong-made tape measure somewhere with the even numbers in black and the 'unlucky' odd numbers in red.

I just encountered another example of Chinese number superstition.

As I said before, I work in the post office of a university. Today 3 new Chinese students came to the window, accompanied by their advisor, to get their mailbox assignments and the combinations to their locks (which are more or less randomly assigned).

One of them cheered because she got a "good" number. One groaned because he got a "bad" number. The third one got a different type of mailbox that uses letters instead of numbers, so he had no reaction one way or the other.

I suspect some people pretend to take this stuff more seriously than they really do. Numerology gives you a safe way to make small talk with a stranger. It's like complaining about the weather, or praising it. We all do this. How often does Friday the 13th pass without anyone remarking about it?

It wasn't one of these days for this man. Celebrated the 30th anniversary of our wedding with a quiet dinner and some flowers, children congratulating per SMS. We choose the 08-08-78 because it was the first datum we could get with a rural registry and we couldn't wait a day longer. (In the town where we lived we should have to wait 5 weeks!)
August 8th also happend to be the birthday of my beloved grandmother.
