Subject: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: Capoed Crusader Date: 10 Jun 09 - 01:24 AM Hey kids! Did the thread about the coolest and best Mudcat handles get you down because you created a handle on the spur of the moment seven years ago and its pretty lame? Well, here is your chance to create a new, cool, descriptive handle that better represents your vibrant Mudcat personna! But there's a catch! You can only use the new handle on this thread. If you are identified correctly by your true handle, you must admit it and immediately fess up. NO site administrators spoiling the game by doing whatever it is you do to correctly identify posters!! To create a new handle, click "membership", log out, then sign up as a new member (you'll have to fake an email address), then log in with a new password, AND an exciting and colorful new handle!! But remember, no matter how cool your handle is, you can't use it elsewhere on the site AND if your true handle is given, full disclosure is required. Have fun! |

Subject: RE: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Jun 09 - 02:16 AM Hey, C'mon! You know I can't allow people to take out bogus memberships like that!!! We can make an exception and allow use of Guest names in this thread, but taking out more than one membership, really messes up our system. Besides, I like your usual name much better. That's how I've come to know you and like you. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: Rapparee Date: 10 Jun 09 - 09:34 PM Who? Caponed Crusader did you say? Did you know Amos spelled backwards is Soma? Little Hawk spelled backwards is Kwah Elttil. For the non-liguists among us that's Broke-Dick Mammaluccan for "Shane McBride". |
Subject: RE: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: Little Hawk Date: 10 Jun 09 - 10:17 PM That sort of makes sense, because Shane is the diametical opposite of me in almost every way possible. ;-) "Kwah Elttil" sounds like the name of some Thark chieftain in one of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars books. Perhaps that is how he came up with those names. Just take well known Indian names and spell them backwards... Little Hawk - Kwah Elttil Running Bear - Reab Gninnur Sitting Bull - Lubb Gnittis Crazy Horse - Esroh Yzarc |
Subject: RE: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: bubblyrat Date: 11 Jun 09 - 04:08 AM I like the idea of " A L'eau,C'est L'Heure" ----There is a legend that the French actually said this at some point in their rather less-than-successful Naval history, and for me,the idea of a bunch of Froggy Matelots rushing around like Poulets sans Tetes shouting " 'Allo Sailor !" is intriguing !( or,as they say in Yorkshire,"in 't' riggin' " ) |

Subject: RE: BS: Fun!! Create a New Mudcat Handle here! From: Little Hawk Date: 11 Jun 09 - 01:22 PM That's funny, bubblyrat! LOL! The French designed excellent ships, often better than the English ships they so frequently fought, but they had the misfortune of fighting the most well-organized and experienced navy in the world when they took on the British Navy. Although the French did win now and then (as before the battle of Yorktown in the American Revolutionary War) they usually were bested by the more experienced British. There was no lack of French courage. No lack of fine shipbuilding. But their crews were often lacking in experience, and experience is vital in warfare. The British crews usually kept up a more rapid rate of fire and they aimed better. That's what you need to win in a battle between wooden ships. |

Tend to get called Ida though when people don't get it. True-Love is Jess Offel I used to be Kitty Litter singing Country songs. Myrtle Green when singing Scottish songs with Barack N Brown. 20 years back I sang, every Tuesday, at a venue where True-love sang on the following night. There was a blackboard outside where we wrote our names as we went in. I took to writing True-love's name up as I left -- ready for Wednesday. I've forgotten most names but I was particullarly proud of -- Randy Azhell. Cheers, Joy |
