Well, mother has chalked up another year, her 93rd if my math is correct. She's still painting beautiful pictures and engaged in several other creative projects with others associated with her books and her paintings.

Still alive!

Died twice, on July 3rd 2009.

Resuscitated twice, once by defibrillator and once by doctor leaping up and down on my chest, breaking all the ribs on my left side in the process.

Thanks to surgical and medical staff at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (Scotland) for their expertise and aftercare, being second to none in either respect.

Alive and very well and living in Montreal. Taking lessons in living from my friends' 95 year old dad who enjoyed Apple Hollow for 11 hours and tried dancing with his walker at a country music jam last week. He was playing hockey at 88. Now THAT is a lesson for all of us. A life supremely lived!

Got a bone scan this afternoon just to see how much of me calcium has left this sinking ship. (If I hadn't wedged a vertebra trying to ride horses again after 40 years I would never have known about it till much later).

Five hours driving thru the Rockies today and four yesterday. The only thin to make me feel dead was the speed limit and sight see-ers. But then there are the craggy peaks swathed in wispy clouds and the turquoise rivers running down to deeper turquoise lakes.
