Subject: RE: The Winfield Thread, a Mudcat Tradition From: JohnInKansas Date: 07 Sep 11 - 03:48 PM Although some of the thread titles include WVA (for Walnut Valley Association - the "official name" of the festival), "Winfield" in the Refresh filter, with time "All" will find all of the above linked threads, including the latest ones. I suppose we'll want to remember to include the "Winfield" in the titles for the next 15 or 20 years to make it easiest to find any new ones(?). That Refresh shows three additional ones. For "completeness of the historical record: Winfield Anyone 2000 - Three posts and apparently the other thread "took over." Festival Photos – WVA aka Winfield (Appears to be the first year that JiK and LiK posted photos. Links to lots of other photos have appeared in other threads.) DFW instead of Winfield - Uncle Calvins (An attempt to pretend that WVA isn't the only Festival around. Dallas-Fort Worth is within a day's drive from Winfield: 336 miles – some of us consider that local in these parts, although most of us have at least a grocery store a little closer.) John |

Subject: RE: The Winfield Thread, a Mudcat Tradition From: John MacKenzie Date: 07 Sep 11 - 12:39 PM In fact it came from the middle W. He was Frank Winfield Woolworth. |

Subject: RE: The Winfield Thread, a Mudcat Tradition From: Uncle Phil Date: 24 Aug 10 - 11:57 PM Never thought of that. Of course the real Winfield only exists in a state of mind rather than in a state of the union like KS or WVA. - Phil |
Subject: RE: The Winfield Thread, a Mudcat Tradition From: Joe Offer Date: 24 Aug 10 - 11:45 PM I have to say, Phil, that I was confused by all the threads about the Winfield WVA Festival. I had always thought Winfield was in Kansas... I'm glad more recent threads identify it as the Walnut Valley Festival. -Joe- |

Subject: The Winfield Thread, a Mudcat Tradition From: Uncle Phil Date: 05 Aug 09 - 10:56 PM LinInKansas asked me yesterday if I had started 'the' Winfield thread yet. Looking back I see that the annual Winfield thread has appeared every August/September since Mudcat began. Some years more than once. 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 2000 1999 1999 1998 1997 - Phil
