As Bill pointed out, a lot of FSGW folks have to get through the Festival before they can even begin to thnk about planning the Getaway. That said, rest assured the the planning HAS begun. We are in the process of lining up our official invited guests (not as simple a task as it might seem, since we can't pay them anything), and have so far confirmed Debby McClatchy, Caroline Paton, Linnea Palmer Paton, and Molly Andrews. More are pending. In a few weeks we'll be asking for workshop suggestions, so get your thinking caps on. Rapaire, I'm delighted to hear you'll be joining us this year! And it sounds as if we'll have a lot of other fine folks returning. Please do, in fact, let us know if you intend to come -- it helps with the planning. Menus? You gotta be kidding, Mary! We have NOTHING to do with that, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view. Sleeping arrangements? What exactly is it that you want to know? I expect the arrangements will be pretty much as they have been in the past, but Jennifer can't even begin to think about that until all the registrations are in, etc. Speaking of registrations, a few decisions have yet to be made before we can put the registration form on line, and those decisions won't be made until July, in all likelihood. Rap, Rapaire - the outhouses are heated and usually have a full supply of Sears catalogues on the floor too. You may be expected to slip the valets (Big Mick, Bobert, Amos, Bruce, etc.) a little sump'n (like a potable or a special favor) but it's not a law. And you don't have to sew name tags in your clothes unless you plan to shed them in places other than your bunk room. (Maybe during the floozy dance at Bobert's Blues Band?) |
