I decided a new thread would be better than adding to the other. Karen just called me. She sounded tired and said she's been better. Pat is back in the ICU unit with a fever of 107 on a cold blanket to try to get it down and on constant temperature monitor. He's back on the vent. His mind is still working....he's aware. She said he is so skinny...something she would never have thought she's say about him.

They are very strict about visiting in the unit, so she is going to go to work, tonight, in order to be able to see him, tomorrow, as they are getting a hug snowstorm.

Please continue to do what you can. Karen said the Sing really helped and I told her we'd do it, again. I'll re-up that thread..maybe we could just do it at noon or midnight, whatever is best for each person, with him in mind, every day if possible.

A fever like that feels awful, but it means his body is working really hard to get rid of something. Good luck getting over this and back into the recovery area, Spaw!

Deep breathing and healing thoughts activated. I am on the road (on tour in Florida with my dear husband). We will both be singing for Spaw and holding him in our hearts. I can read the Mudcat on my phone but for some reason can't post. So this is my first chance to see this.

Spaw, I've been sorry ever since we drove cross Ohio last year and didn't stop in to say hi. Listen, you have to get better soon so we can meet next time for sure!

I ran a temperature of over 104 degrees once; it made me delirious. I can't even imagine hitting 107. But I do know that it means that Spaw's system is trying to chase out whatever is wrong.

Don't make the doctors pound on you, it makes them feel guilty about it latter, pounding a poor fellow on the cheast just because he ... well, don't do it, or we will be vexed as well as sad.

Here is a challenge I placed on Kev... a race between you and Kev to reach your hundredth birthday... lots of crunchy veggies... briskish accompanied walks... etc. I've joined both Team Spaw and Team Kev in this contest... so, drop the fever old boy and start the heavy breathing and low carbs...

The dramatic weight loss is to be expected. Vancomyacin or othe antibiotic should have things under controll in a couple days.
107 gave me some fantastic upside down flying sensations that I will never forget.
