1. What is your age range?   Just turned 65, so I am officially OLD.

2. Gender? Male

3. Do you have a favorite color? Dark green

4. Favorite authors/type of book? I mostly read SF and alternative history, but I generally buy or read them as soon as they come out.

5. What books have you really been wanting? See #4 - if I want it, I have it...and I'm running out of room for any more. I discovered the ereader last year, and that is a wonderful thing.

6. What type of music do you like? Uh...folk? Oh yeah - what is folk? Never mind...Celtic. Wait - what is Celtic? Stuff with fiddles, guitars and maybe (dread) a banjo or bodhran.   People singing in languages I don't know. Rhythm - rhythm is good.

7. What CDs have you really been wanting? I'm pretty sure that I don't have every CD ever produced by a Mudcatter. I just ordered the new Mudcat collection.

8. What movies have you been wanting? (specify VHS if you don't have a DVD player). No thanks...I get them from Netflix.

9. What is your t-shirt size? XL

10. Do you collect anything? if so, what? Not really. I tend to have one of each of a lot of things.

11. What are some of your other hobbies? Bicycling and painting miniature toy soldiers.

12. Do you prefer gold-tone or silver-tone jewelry? I only wear silver, but I have all I need.

13. Please include anything else you feel is important that would help your Secret Santa know what you would like. I would most like things from you or where you live. If you have a CD of your own, or one that you especially like of a local group, that would be the best possible gift.

Love Purple, Black, Greens & Blues - definitely not pink!

Books: Have read all Terry Pratchett's and have a good collection of his Hard-back First Editions (apart from Discworld 1st & 2nd books - but they're nearly into 4 figures now so please don't worry about searching for them!!). Any science fantasy, dragons & wizzzzards, fiction, thrillers & crime etc. Have read almost all of Patricia Cornwell, Robert Ludlum, Andy McDermid, Clive Cussler, Wilbur Smith, Alexander Kent, Barbara Erskine, Carlos Castenada to name a few. Second-hand is preferred, especially as they go to a charity shop when they're read, no storage space! Dogeared and with broken spines are perfectly acceptable, shows they're recommended!

Musical taste: Traditional Folk, a capella singing, contempory folk, female voice - anything that's good, stuff you've done, anything of Catters, ones with good songs to try!!

Not into movies or DVD's - rarely get time in front of the TV.

Size: still Large *sigh* I like chocolate a lot and I've become quite good at ice-cream cocktails recently (still)....

Am accumulating an interesting collection of crafty earrings, pierced & dangly!!! Silver-tone seems to go best with my favourite colours. Seem to have accumulated stones from various places & beaches... Love Cats, Birds, Chocolate (too much), gardening, plants & trees, secret gardens, interesting places, earth powers, intuition & friendship.

Allergies - yes, mainly alkaline-forming foods (have never eaten fruit so that's a definite negative) so please steer clear of foodstuffs. Luckily there aren't many other negatives in my life apart from the food!

Happy to read any packing material too, as long as it isn't technical stuff that is!

I play wind blown instruments and scottish smallpipes in my band so any unusual wind instrument would be good. The lovely bright orange noseflute that a kind santa sent me before has tragically broken and so the wonderful nose flute and swanee whistle duo performances are alas no more at the moment

Silver, but I'm afraid it would have to be real because my skin is sensitive to metals.

Here are a few more hints:
--I like old things better than new; thrift store items are absolutely fine.
--I may have very limited space for the next few months or years, so small is good!
--I have almost no clothing that doesn't smell of fire. I can take care of my basic needs, but if you see some lovely and inexpensive accent piece that I might not buy for myself (a scarf, for example), you would probably bring me great pleasure.

Age-Almost 63 (Aged to perfection, but a little overcooked)

Gender-Male (according to the Engendered Species List)

Favorite colors-Greens Blues and Yellos (being a former redhead, I had little choice)

Favorite Authors-Mark Twain, Barbara Tuchman, David Halberstam, Patrick O'Brien, William Shakespeare, Stephen W. Sears, John McPhee, Peter Guaralnick, Peter Mathiessen, William Kennedy, Richard Ellis, Kinky Friedman, Tom Boswell, Stephen Jay Gould.....to name a few off the top of my head. There's lots more.

Books I am wanting-My library is overcrowded, but that's never stopped me. Local (to you) histories, folk song collections, a favorite mystery that you want to share.

Music I Like-I like lots of kinds of music, but since Mudcat's all about music and friendship, keep it folk, your own music or favorite local bands you go hear.

CDs I want-Again, something by you or from or about your area. Maritime music is always good, as well, if it applies to your surroundings.

Movies- I live in the US. I have lots of movies, but old silent comedy in DVD or even VHS would do fine (Keaton, Chaplain and Our Gang are pretty much taken care of.)

T=shirt size-L or XL

Collections-Old advertizing signs and thermometers, especially porcelain enamel ones.

Other hobbies-A bird guide if you live outside the US.

Jewelry- don't really wear it,but it would be silver if I did.

Helpful information-Thrift store or flea market items are just fine.
I am diabetic, so a lot of food items are out of the question.

   Earth tones, other than orange, and purple (I am an old woman, after all).

Local booklets from wherever you are, particularly natural history type things, ....or maps/posters

Ones I can't afford, so don't bother. Ones with local tunes in would be interesting, though, if they're in the fiddle type range.

Traditional tunes - I'm not a singing person particularly. Dance tunes, old tunes....

The one I have yet to make, with my best musical friend. Otherwise, surprise me.I'm told I'm a traditionalist. Don't do jazz (I've tried)

Don't drink alcohol, shouldn't eat chocolate but prefer dark if offered. Love honey and maple syrup: can't eat hard toffee type sweeties. Love macadamia nuts.
Must try not to over-indulge anyway.

5. What books have you really been wanting? Usually old/obscure ones. Still looking for anything by Post Wheeler. Folklore/storytelling of all sorts, from juvenile to scholarly.
