Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: keberoxu Date: 26 Dec 16 - 06:38 PM This holiday season I am grateful not to have been greedy and excessive, at least not this year, so the day after Christmas feels healthy and stable for me. I spare a moment for communion of spirit with those whose feelings are bruised and whose bodies need more time to recover, because the holidays can be a bruising and battering occasion, and I know whereof I speak. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: ChanteyLass Date: 24 Dec 16 - 08:44 PM Rap, my heart goes out to you and your family who are grieving at this time of year. Wendy, everyone should have a friend like yours. I'll join you in the Galley presently, and I'll bring tea for anyone who won't join us in drinking your mulled wine. |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: keberoxu Date: 24 Dec 16 - 03:09 PM Looking at the obit notice for Rapparee's sister, is to observe how grief sometimes is grief squared: one power of grief for the actual passing on; and grief to the second power, over the person who you remember from many years before, who has been someone different-looking for a long time. Especially so, if you did what could be done to support some form of recovery, and the person wasn't having it. That one is going to smart deep down. Until it is time for you to travel back for the observances, Rap and better half, eat and sleep well, and take good care of yourselves, the better to be present for the other grieving survivors where you are bound. Holding you and your grief over my heart. |

Who will join me? Wishing you all a very Happy, Peaceful Christmas, health to all who are not too chipper, Happy memories of Christmas past with loved ones who are no longer here. I was not looking forward this year till I heard some words of wisdom from a good friend " Wendy, your mother loved Christmas, she loved seeing the little ones open the presents, she loved the shopping for all the family, she spent Christmas eve making mince pies and sausage rolls listening to the carols from Kings College, she made the family traditions that you carry on in her memory " Happy Christmas with all my love Wendy xxxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Mysha Date: 23 Dec 16 - 02:27 PM Hi, This is the moment where I finally feel strong enough to post again, only to find that I don't actually have much to say for now. c-: I read the posts, and I sort of sound along with the good and the bad, like a resonance string. I guess I wish people for the continuation of the good times, where appropriate, and the change of fortunes where things aren't going so well; calmer times for those who lost kin and/or loved ones. Well, no matter your fortunes it comes down to: I wish you smooth sailing. Bye, Mysha |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: keberoxu Date: 20 Dec 16 - 02:10 PM The holiday for the Nativity always leaves me with mixed feelings to start with. Stuck somewhere between my heart and my gut feelings, is this unfortunate dread: when everyone else rejoices in the Nativity of the infant, I am thinking, Ye gods, what a hard road that little boy has to travel. I can't get "Let this cup pass from me" out of my mind for some strange reason. So, although there is grief and loss when someone passes on, -- depending on whether the passing is expected, or a complete shock -- it consoles me to consider that someone has been released from suffering. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Janie Date: 12 Dec 16 - 08:44 PM keberoxu - just saw your inquiry. I retired, sort of, December 1. Still have my private practice and a number of folks I was seeing at the clinic are moving to that. Have also been going to a flurry of medical appointments now that I have good insurance, so not feeling retired yet as I have yet to be able to sleep in a little or have a day free - but that will come. Will just take some time. The holiday season is always tricky with my private practice schedule, and with adding 8-10 new clients is a bit chaotic but will get sorted out. Getting stuff taken care of and seeing to screenings I have put off for 2-3 years due to poor medical insurance. All good so far, and Medicare and my Medigap policy will cover the minor issues that have emerged. Here is a little something for the season I hope y'all enjoy. Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Janie Date: 12 Dec 16 - 07:41 PM My good thoughts to you, your sister and your brothers, Rap. We all have people in the family who make bad choices over a lifetime. No matter how frustrated we may get, for most of us, we still love and care deeply about them. With our siblings, we have all that history going back to our earliest days. I'm reminded of my youngest aunt. She was the 'wild one' and Mom and her brothers were frequently frustrated. Still, not long before she died, (the youngest of them, but the first to go,) Mom and my uncles flew to Texas to spend a weekend with her. Was a beautiful and special to all of them. |
