Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: catspaw49 Date: 26 Dec 13 - 02:02 PM I hope not Pete.....I've said many of the same words on this thread though and it seems to have accepted them. If it was me, I'm sorry.... Spaw |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Bat Goddess Date: 26 Dec 13 - 02:33 PM I'm definitely in bereavement overload... Just found out two days ago that friend, musician and folk scholar Bob Webb, who lives in Phippsburg, Maine, was in hospice...and this morning it was confirmed that he passed away yesterday (Christmas) at home surrounded by his family. At PMFF the end of September he was trying to shake what he thought was a nasty bug... This is a bit too sudden (for me, at least) to absorb... Linn |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: ChanteyLass Date: 26 Dec 13 - 05:35 PM Linn I thought of you as soon as I saw a photo Charlie posted on FB of Bob at the PMFF. You really have been hit hard recently. I'm sending more hugs. Pete, I'm sorry Tommy can't come of the ventilator yet. This really does seem to be another one-day-at-a-time situation. Hugs to you both. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: GUEST,Pete from tommys bedside Date: 27 Dec 13 - 02:10 PM As you say chantylass, day by day. Even today he seemed to be doing well and then throw us into a panic with another setback. Again they hope to remove ventilator tomorrow, pending how he does tonight. Spaw, I was only attempting to be lightheartedly jesting...I don't suppose it was you. Sorry to hear of this latest loss, linn. I know how it can compound bereavement. Blessings. Pete. |

Thanks crew. Blessings. Pete. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: GUEST,Pete from tommys bedside Date: 02 Jan 14 - 01:08 PM Tommy was doing really well but another mucus plug today put him in danger and left him weakened. We are hoping that he revives so he don't have to go back on ventilator. Just when we thought his recovery was underway, we find him to be still at risk. Thank you friends for your concern and prayers. Blessings. Pete. |

Pete, especial hugs and meditations for Tommy and for you and your family. All the New Englander's, Mainiacs, (and are you going to get the same weather, gnu?) and midwesterner's sailing along, hope the hatches are battened down, propane or wood piled high, and that you are able to stay snug and warm over the next few days whether the power goes out or not. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: gnu Date: 02 Jan 14 - 09:21 PM Our weather is just cold! -29C, -39WC this morn. Small snow tomorrow. Blizzard warnings in NS, tho. I dread Monday. +6C and rain forecast but that's days away so that could change. Last of power outages (thousand without power) near Saint John, NB repaired early today. Some were without power since before Xmas. Still thinking of Tommy. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Nigel Paterson Date: 03 Jan 14 - 05:17 AM Safe home from NC yesterday morning. Jet lag, West to East always messes me up. Much to read here. Will write again when I can keep my eyes open long enough to do so! Special thanks to Maeve for alerting me to Ralph's plight. Wishing all of you Dear People a belated Happy Christmas & a Music-filled New Year, Nigel. xxxxx |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: GUEST,pete from seven stars link Date: 03 Jan 14 - 06:19 PM we came home tonight to see, and make arrangements for 8 yr old harry who has not seen much of us, though enjoying staying with our daughters and their children. with 14 grankids he has a few playmates! tommy unfortunately was put back on ventilator today, which means he is safe at present but there is always risk of becoming dependant on it and not being able to breath for himself. it has been traumatic and frightening for him, not being able to understand why he is subjected to treatment like deep suction. warm thoughts for friends in freezing zones at this time. blessings all pete. |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: frogprince Date: 03 Jan 14 - 07:29 PM My heart goes out to Tommy, and all of you of the family, and I know that's true for all the circle here. |

The sad news about Ralphie (see his obit thread) came from one of my oldest & dearest Catter Friends, Greatly saddened but grateful, nonetheless, Nigel. |

Early hours of the morning here, don't ask..... things not so good with mum here at the moment, but compared with others I am blessed. Pete, sending blessing to you and Tommy and your family. Nigel, welcome home. I had a fun surprise today, Essex girl sent a CD of me singing on BBC Radio Medway 35 years ago that I had never heard before!! Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 04 Jan 14 - 09:28 PM lucky you Wendy, I was talking to a friend last night whose 70th birthday presents included several CDs of his radio performances from back in the distant past. His retired radio presenter friend kept copies of everything he ever broadcast & my friend was also tickled to hear his young self. sandra |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Nigel Paterson Date: 06 Jan 14 - 07:25 AM In my thoughts today: Wendy & her Mum; Pete & Tommy; Linn; Virginia Tam; Ralphie, Sheena, their friends & Family. Hoping all is well with Stateside Crew members affected by the snow & frighteningly low temperatures & any UK Crew affected by the floods & wind. Mother Nature most definitely NOT in a good mood at the moment. Thank you for the welcome home. Our time spent in NC this year, was, naturally enough, 'different', but, by & large, Christmas resembled most of the Christmases from past years, the only noticeable difference being our conversations were punctuated by longer than usual silences; silences that were, nevertheless, pregnant with thoughts & memories. Keep warm...stay safe, With Love, Nigel xxxx |
