I would laugh at that, Don, if it wasn't for the fact that Canada was being bought out by the USA first under NAFTA and now we are selling it to China and Brazil and... Kinda I-ronic that the USA is pissed about us selling it to others because THEY can pay top dollar.

gnu - Queen Victoria was actually a lively and attractive woman in her youth. We're just used to seeing pictures of her late in life, long after the death of her husband with whom she seems to have had a very happy marriage. There was a pretty cool movie out some years back about the young Victoria.

it would come with a few hundred thousand people with way too many guns. maybe give it back to the natives and the colonists could clear out!!



canada would really like a warm addition. i used to run for member of the nova scotia legislature on the platform of making canda warmer in the winter. let the carribean islands of turks and cacos join canada, which would raise average winter tempertures. the turks and cacos applied to join canacda. we turned them down and just built them a proper airport and landing strip and a few tourist hotels so they would have an industry.

i suspect the canadian governement was afraid if we owned some carribean islands, then all the people on unemployment insurance would relocate there while collecting the dole. i know i would have if i could have!!

i haven't had time to do mudcat this week, untuill today, i have to say some of youse guys have too much time on your hands.

I figured the WaPo low-balled the number thinkin' it could maybe get into the bidding war... Just basic bidding 101... Heck, if the cheap-skate Post is talkin' $2.5 T then it's gotta be worth 4 or 5 times that much...

The only down side I see is that if we got our deficit down again and a Republican became president that would mean more wars... They love 'um...

But, not to worry, Eb... I'm on top of this and if we sell it I'm gonna be sure that you and KT will live like queens for the rest of your lives...

I get yer attitude toward Sarah. No moss grows on that gal. I offered her a choice spot in the APP campaign team back in the last go-round, and my gal friend (and campaign manager) Renata just about took my head off...so I hadda forget about it. Anyways, Sarah wanted the top spot that time (candidate for president, not just the VP), and I could not give her that. It would not have made sense to my mostly primate constituency.

Tell ya one thing: if she ever did become president, it would scare the Russians and Chinese so bad that they would probably agree to just about anything.
