As I mentioned before, I used to know a guy who was an ex-Marine and a gun-nut. He turned out to be downright dangerous to be around, so I made myself scarce. It was shortly thereafter that his wife divorced him. He kept his loaded .45 automatic on the bedside table, and she was increasingly afraid of such things as getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, then having her head blown off while coming back into the bedroom. I know the type. Trigger-happy. "Have gun, itching to kill someone!" Unfortunately, this type of person usually has to actually kill someone before they can lock him up. No brag, just fact... I have seen the good ol' boys "lynch" black defendants in their sentencing... There is a disproportionate numbers of black people incarcerated in the South... Put to death in the South... I'm sorry, gn-ze... You are one of my closest friends here but... ...you just don't have a clue about what occurs here... Send a donation to the Southern Poverty Law Canter and they, in turn, will send you a magazine that will open your eyes to just how much injustice is going down down here... The judge should have issued a gag order on the prosecution and defense... 2. Zimmerman's attorney should not have released personal information about what was on Martin's cell phone to the public... 3. The judge should have allowed the prosecution to present "expert witnesses" as to whose voice was on the recording... 4. The judge should not have allowed Martin's use of marijuana to be entered into evidence... 5. Zimmerman's attorney should not have been allowed to present testimony in regards to Zimmerman's claim that he didn't know Florida's stand-your-ground laws... 6. The judge allowed character evidence on Martin but blocked it on Zimmerman... Remember that out-right lie Zimmerman told the court about not having any money to pay for his defense??? If it was okay to trash the victim in court then it should have been okay to trash the defendant... If this case was turned around and Martin was the defendant, any one of the above would be grounds for either a mistrial or an appeal... The problem here is that Martin isn't around to appeal... You don't need the transcripts to get this far... Most people were enraged over the O.J. verdict... There weren't too many folks saying, "Geeze, I need a full transcript" before forming an overall opinion of the way the trial went down... These were very public trails... B~ |
