Odd turn of events. I mean, I really thought he threw well. Almost all the passes "just missed" in his first game were thrown where there could be no interceptions. I know he went 4 for twelve but I thought he was 9 for 12 on "good judgement". Yeah, yeah... I know. Plus, I figgered either Belichick was gonna make him a QB or the Pats fans were gonna "doubt" him into oblivion.

I suppose the simple fact is, he's a bit of entertainment but he really isn't a QB of the quality required for the NFL... yet.

As good as Flutie? That is a TALL order, pun intended.

Tebow is his own worst enemy... A little less theatrics would have helped his career... He ain't stupid but too hard headed to realize that if you want to the a preacher then be a preacher but if you wnat to be a football player than be one...

Will... nobody would expect you to make any sense of it. First, it is about a sports player who is likely unknown by most of the world outside of NA and by a large number within NA. Second, it is about American football and I understand it is considered a non-sport in civilized countries.

Indeed, it strikes me odd that such a large portion of Mudcatters who are fans of this sport and who participate in discssions of it are Canucks. On any given NFL thread, there might be two, perhaps even more, Canucks. We comprise at least 50% of the participants in this thread to date given the fact that Rap doesn't count.

As a man JtS, he's a dwarf and as human being even smaller. He played a system in college designed by a brilliant coach who knew how to coach him and how to play the game which made Timmy a star. Timmy thanked god first and foremost. He kissed the wrong ass obviously..........

Urban Meyer designed a system around a fine runner at QB and the ONLY thing that made Teabutt a passer was the fear he would run. That doesn't work in the pro game but Tim never figured that out.

He can learn to pass. He has a decent arm. The fact that Bill cut him says to me it's all a ruse OR that Tim just ain't gonna learn. BUT, Bill ain't gonna say shit either way. Ebbie... in many languages, too. He just dunno squat about football. Probably a good thing. It is a waste of time for most of the population. I find it a distracting and entertaining pastime while someone of Rap's intellect would surely find it silly, at best. Whilst I may enjoy the constant game of chess, the head to head strategy far more than the physical prowess of those on the field, it is still simply an atheletic pursuit and unworthy of the mass adoration it receives, including the coin which seems to overshadow such pursuit in the eyes of many.

Having said that, come Sunday... ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOOOOTBAAAAALLLLL!!!???

AHA! As I was rather busy earlier, I did not read the entire article. Apparently, as told by a buddy, because of the baseball game, the Ravens are away (I always thought a rave could beat the crap out of an Oriole). This supposedly gave them the option of putting not only Joe's pic in the Stadium but on every lamp post of last the straight stretch main road to the venue... all of the Raven's players s pics. I still say it's marketing genius.

BTW on the highways down here I often see a birds, oriole sized or smaller, flying along pecking crows' and buzzards' heads driving them away. Come to think of it they look like 5'8 DBs taking on Tebow. :-D

Tebow gave it a shot and knew he was up against long odds. While I'm not a fan of his Quarterback work I admire him for putting himself out there. When the obvious occurred he stepped away graciously.

I don't watch football but was aware of him because of his christian antics over the years; it seemed extremely ironic that he got away with a lot of that crap while Colin Kaepernick was vilified for taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police violence.
