This news came up on the BBC website. There is a lovely article there about his contribution and the story of Clannad. I'm sure many of us will have enjoyed and celebrated their music over the years. I shall look out my Clannad CDs later on and reminisce.

Me too, though I must confess that they lost me as a fan when they went a bit rocky and rolly, around the time of their collaboration with Bono. He died too young.

Very sorry to hear this. I have most of the early recordings and loved them. Great band, brought much joy to many.
