I thought of a story how a Trump White House cook cleverly uses "edibles" to mellow out the Donald and family, hillarlity ensues when Hillary...

In a heaven can wait scenario or as in the movie Selfless I suppose I would gladly become Trump. Except for being older thing I would like it. To be an evil genius without a conscience and grab me some pussy while lying about some grandiose thing about myself would be quite a change. Learning about all things including need to know could be fun. I could order Bannon to fire some schlub and appoint some ass hole I would fire the next month, maybe with extreme prejudice. I could use prejudice to fire that grease ball ginnie Giuliani. Maybe the sex with my daughter thing is OK. Jews, spics and uppidy blacks won't see the purge coming. No burdensome empathy, no guilt. Trump for a month and if that's not long enough, king for life. psssss its good to be the king. Ahh revenge makes me feel so warm and horny.

oh to be good luck Trump for a month, what a life.

people differ on what constitutes good and bad.

True enough, Pete.

And according to you, good Christian that you are, a lying, racist, white-supremecist, Islamaphobic, misogynist, sexual predator, corrupt, tax-evading swindler, multiple divorceé and all around despicable excuse for a human being constitutes "good".

Jesus wept.

"And of course, people differ on what constitutes good and bad."

Here are things I think are bad that Trump doesn't:

❌ Misogyny
❌ Xenophobia
❌ Mocking the Disabled
❌ Appointing anti-semites and white supremacists as key advisors
❌ Asking what the point of having nukes is if you don't use them
❌ Grabbing women "by the pussy" and other forms of sexual assault
❌ Demonising entire sections of society based on their ethnicity
❌ Climate Change denial that will condemn millions to death and suffering
❌ Being a billionaire and saying you identify with poor people when you have zero idea what it's like to be poor
❌ Being a liar
❌ The oppression of women by denying them choice
❌ Having no taste in interior decor.

"but as Greg says he is already a billionaire so he might keep that promise. "
What a basis to elect a President - has "The Land of the Free" really sunk as low as to have elected a fascist who advocates grabbing womens' genitals when the mood takes you because "he might keep his promise".
Nice to know the world's in a safe pair of hands "when they're not busy doing other things"

Pete from ss: "Oh , and did I hear right that he won't be drawing the huge salary that goes with the job ?"

Pete, I'll make you - and anyone else - a bet: Donald Trump WILL draw the salary. No matter what he says now.

As for waiting and giving him a chance to see what he will do in the office of the Presidency- OK, we can do that- we really don't have a choice.

HOWEVER. Judging by the choices for the staff that he has already announced, there is little reason to hope.

Stephen Bannon? REALLY??

"He is showing distinct signs of being open to discussion as to how his pledges will be implemented,"
Are you seriously suggesting that those who voted for him are "open to discussion"?
He was elected on a ticket of evil and the voters bought it.
It's not Trump we have to be worried about - he will be controlled by those who control such things for their own interests.
The possibility is that the totally unprecedented protests turn into something -else - a fight between 'good and evil' perhaps?
Don't know how 'good' the protesters are, but Trump was elected on a t5icket of pure evil and the responses from LePen, The Klan, the European radical right - and our own Nigel Farage are proof enough, if any is needed.
A strange response here - "It's OK because he's not going to do what he promised to do"- you couldn't make it up!!

And/or - was he lying then, or is he lying now?

It is the new admionistration that is foul and becomming more foul by the day as he adds white supremecists, racists & other undesirables to his inner circle of advisors & cabinet.

Just to clarify ....on the one hand he will be CALLED a liar...    And whether we should believe what he says ( being as he is a politician as well as business man now!) was not the point I was making . He is showing distinct signs of being open to discussion as to how his pledges will be implemented, and willing to backtrack on policy accordingly. And to the shred it of Obama and Clinton they want to help make it work , as opposed to many here , and on the streets determined to oppose the new administration , by fair means or foul .

pete, you're getting increasingly irrational. On the one hand you say Trump is a proven serial liar and on the other you say we should believe what he says. What point, if any- are you trying to make.

(small)(p.s.-pete the piece of garbage is a billionaire. To him the President's salary is chump change. He probably spends more on toilet paper or hair cream.

" ....jail Clinton ..."    Yes, agreed he did say that .   Do you think he should follow through with that ?   Thought not !   On the one hand he is a liar, and the other intransigent ......fact is , you lot got it in for him whatever. And no I do not condone the stupid and immoral stuff he's said in the past. Neither do I condone those who have taken his win to be an excuse for their inherent racism being displayed. You don't like what he said he would do , but instead of being encouraged that he is open to discussion and adaption you paint him in the worst possible light , and prejudge his performance enforce he officially begins . Oh , and did I hear right that he won't be drawing the huge salary that goes with the job ?

On another thread I tried to post that Trump used to be a Democrat. He was reported to have said that he would do better going for President as a Republican because "those people will believe anything". My point was that he may surprise some of you by implementing Democrat policies. Was I dreaming or did I hear on the news that he will not now get rid of Obamacare?

Incidentally a day after the election I posted the tablature to Nellie The Elephant on the Acoustic Guitar Forum. It's had over 100 views but no comments so far.

Why am I getting an image of Toad of Toad Hall from 'wind in the willows' being berated by Badger Ratty and Mole?

Perhaps he will renege on everything he said pre election - him not being a politician.

Olddude, those of us who paid attention to earlier posts from you, as well as those who have been here longer than I have, know that Hillary Clinton is more than a name to you, she is someone you care about. Well, Mrs. Clinton may have lost the election, but look at it this way: you have not lost Mrs. Clinton. After observing how she coped and adapted during her husband's two terms -- I did what you are saying you will do, during Monica Lewinsky's metaphorical fifteen minutes of fame -- I am confident that Mrs. Clinton will cope, adapt, and work again.

I am no better than anyone else at viewing something, in that I put my own feelings and experiences into my viewpoint. My family of origin, which used to be virtually cemented into a show of unity, is not what it was in my childhood. There is a future for my relatives in the younger generations, however the family of my past is no more than an historical footnote to their future. And I honestly think this nation will never be the same again. God willing, we may avoid a civil war; we cannot avoid the division that threatens this nation's centralized government. And as olddude says, we will lose relationships as the divisions are confronted. There is much to grieve, and much to be done.

The supporters of the side that:

*won the popular vote
*are disgusted by Trump's misogyny
*are disgusted by Trump's homophobia
*are disgusted by the fact that they are about to be governed by a man who thinks that sexual assault is fun
*want to keep their abortion rights and the right to gay marriage
*want to fight global warming
*want to reach out to the world, not shut themselves away in a country that is isolationist, protectionist and which makes friends with dictators such as Putin and Assad.

And anyone like to bet against the first death in these "riots" being perpetrated by a cop?
