Would any kind soul have the lyrics to the old Irish song
Tú Feín is me Fhéin? I have a recorded translation but not
the original Irish. Go raibh mhaith agat!

This lyric is probably not what you want, but apart from a harp tune it is all I can find.

MÉ FÉIN IS TÚ FÉIN

Ar thrioblóidí an tsaoil, déanfaimid dearmad ar feadh tamaill,
Mé féin’s tú féin.
Aoibhneas is áthas na smaointe a bheas againn,
Mé féin’s tú féin.

Curfá: Ó leatsa is liomsa tá aoibhneas ag fanacht,
Mé féin’s tú féin
Aoibhneas is áthas na smaointe a bheas againn,
Mé féin’s tú féin.

Tá an lá breá ag teacht is tabharfaidh sé chun taitnimh,
Mé féin’s tú féin.
Beidh nádúr an tsaoil faoi bhláth romhainn ag fanacht,
Mé féin’s tú féin.

Ceol an smóilín dúinne sna gleannta,
Mé féin’s tú féin
Beidh na bláthanna is cumhra ansin inár dteannta
Mé féin’s tú féin.

Siúlfaimid go ciúin síos cois an chladaigh,
Mé féin’s tú féin.
Ar dhul faoi na gréine beimid ag faire,
Mé féin’s tú féin.

Ó leatsa is liomsa tá aoibhneas ag fanacht,
Mé féin’s tú féin
Ach dúinne mo bhrón, is é an t-aoibhneas nach maireann.
Mé féin’s tú féin.

TÚ FÉIN IS MÉ FÉIN

Má thagann tú choíche ná tar ach san oíche
Siúil go réidh is ná scanraigh mé;
Tá an mada chomh socair is ní labhróidh sé focal
Ní náir dhó é, is maith ‘ mhúin mise é,   ‘s maith ‘ mhúin mise é.

It’s if you come, O please come in the nightime
Don’t waken the house and slip silently in
And don’t fear the dog; he will not make a sound
For I have him well trained, I have him well trained,
I have him well trained,

Tá mo Mhaimí ina codladh is mo Dhaidí dhá bogadh
Is a’ pógadh a béil, is a’ pógadh a béil
Nach aoibhinn dise is nach trua leat mise
I mo luí liom péin ar leabaidh clúmh éin, ar leabaidh clúmh éin.

My mammy and daddy in bed they are rolling
They hug and they kis, O they kiss and they hug
‘Tis well for them O but I am downhearted
As I lie here alone on my bed of soft down, my bed of soft down

’S é do lib is do leab is do sheanbhríste craicinn
Do bhásaigh mé is nár shásaigh mé,
Is gur le do chuid tuisleogadh stróic tú mo phluideoga
Thú féin is mé féin, thú féin is mé féin, thú féin is mé féin!

O your flipping and flopping in your old leather britches
Have left me frustrated and unsatisfied
All your wriggling and kicking has just torn my blankets-
O God! You and me! O just you and me, O just you and me!

Och is míle osna aice tá mo chroí tuirseach
Is ní náir dhom e – ní náir dhom é;
Tá an oíche ar a tosach agus luí ar t’obair
Thú féin is mé féin – thú féin is mé féin, thú féin is mé féin!

I sigh and I sob and with lust I am burning
And I’m not ashamed, and I’m not ashamed
The night’s just beginning so start up your engine
O just you and me, O just you and me, O just you and me

Thanks to you both! I tjink Jim's version is the closer... the song I'm looking for was collected by Patrick Lynch (for Edward Bunting) around 1804.
The version was offered by Nancy McLaughlin and is listed in Collette Mooney's massive indexing of the MSS. I fear the complete works of Bunting and Lynch will never be published in my lifetime.
Thanks again.

Má thagann tú choiche ná tar ach san oiche,
is siúl go réidh is ná scanraigh mé
gheobhaidh tú an eochair faoi shá shair an dorais,
is mé liom féin 's ná scanraigh mé

Níl pota sa mbealach níl stól ná canna
ná súgán féir, ná ní faoin gréin
tá an madra chomh socair nach labharfaidh sé focal
ní náir dó é, 's maith mhúin míse é.

Tá mo mhaimí 'na codladh 's mo dhaidí á bogadh,
's ag pógadh a béil, 's ag pógadh a béil,
nach aoibhinn di-se 's nach trua leat míse,
'mo luí liom féin ar chlúmh na n-éan.
