A while back I think it was Martin Ryan that mentioned Christy Moore was going to be on Joe Jackson's show Under the Influence on RTE radio 1 on Saturday June 3. I've checked out the site but can't seem to find any mention of the show. Would Martin or any of our other Irish catters be able to let me know what time the show starts. I'd love to be able to hear the interview. Thanks Den.

Oh i am the worlds greatest Christy Moore fan. unfortunately i live in Switzerland and cannot watch RTE. However I do get Rte radio via satellite, so if it happens that it is there please post it in. Thanks

It's on alright - 12.03 p.m. Irish time on Sat. 3rd June. An hour where Christy talks about (and plays?) the music that inspired him.

Martin, can you point us in the right direction? Maybe it ins't available on the 'Net? I've searched their site every which way and cannot find anything for Christy, Under the Influence, or Joe.

Guest, art, according to all I've seen at the RTE site, they do provide tapes of shows for a fee, if you miss it.

Martin Ryan is Correct...the Christy Moore Spec.(Under The Influence) is def. on RTE Radio 1 at 12.03 GMT onSat 3rd. You can reach the prog on www.rte.ie and access the live stream PJ Curtis.

I hope he will forgive me as I've done this before, but as we are on the subject, you can also hear P.J at these places and at these times. Nice stuff when you're cruisin' the 'Cat (or any other time, for that matter)

I'm on CET (Central European Time), which is 1 hour ahead of Ireland and England. Don't know if they're on GMT at the minute or GMT -1 (I can never get used to the 'summer' times over here; confuses the hell out of me.)

Doesn't matter though, the time listings are in GMT, you only have to work it out from that.
When I'm 'Catting', I put my computer's clock to Mudcat time. Means I don't have to add and subtract every time, I'm reading threads.
Now...what was that...2.41PM on the 2nd is....actually....ah te hell with it!!

Hey, Brendy, I've a great program from Iridium, the Global Time Converter, which Alison sent me, that sits very quietly just waiting for me to click on it; then it shows a world map, I position the cursor over wherever I want to know the time and bingo, it shows me! Takes two seconds to download and is quite easy to use, if you'd like a copy let one of us know.

I hate the change in time for the summer over here, too. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, kat, that would be neat. I use the 'Beatnik Internet clock', which also happily sits in the background - but limited to one time zone at a time.
I've gone through a few 'world clock' things, and some of them are huge, as regards the amount of space they take up compared to the function they perform.

Well I don't know. At 1pm ( exactly 1200 midday in Ireland) I tuned into Radio RTE and put a tape on to record the thing with Christy Moore. Then I went back to the bar-b-que in the garden, only to discover later that all that taped was a conversation in Irish ( which I don't understand anymore). Where did ye enjoy the Christy Moore time???????????????? Brigid

Well I mucked up completely and being on GMT didn't even have to do any conversions. I just got it into my head it was 1pm and was about to tune in when I read Den's post saying it WAS great stuff.
