Subject: RE: Christy Moore contact From: GUEST,P.J. Brady. Date: 27 May 11 - 07:59 PM Hello Christy this is a song I was trying to write to the music of the lonesome boatman. I have two other songs with my own music called 'Going to the Fleadh' and 'The Creditunion blues. The trouble is I'm no singer but possibley you may know someone who could make a demo of them. Keep up the great work Christy and God bless. P.J. Temptress Sea. Oh temptress of the sea she's as cold as she can be and still growing. many vessels she lured down, All the fishermen that were drowned, never knowing, The secret neath the waves, that makes of fishermen such slaves, to go falling. To a[cold] saltwater sea bed where no crosses mark the dead, she is calling. Chorus. Can't you hear the sea, She is calling. Underneath her waves they are falling. Never more on dry shore to go roaming. Oh how calm that blissfull bay, Start of voyage that summers day. Just like heaven. Within the turn of sea breeze, Neptune's anger unappeased, Bows a heaving. chorus repeat. On leaving that safe dry shore, They would return never more. They were singing. Some old fishermans song, Their hearts would sing along, She is calling. chorus repeat. P.J.B. Email doctor.strange@hotmail.com 0870552575 |

Subject: RE: Christy Moore contact From: Felipa Date: 02 Jul 16 - 07:16 AM PJ Brady's song deserves a separate thread, and anyway, the musicians to send it because the lyrics are supposed to be set to The Lonesome Boatman tune to are the Furey Brothers. A singer songwriter friend of mine sent a cassette of own compositions to Christy in the 1980s and got no response, but I suppose Christy is beseiged with suchlike. |
Subject: RE: Christy Moore contact From: GUEST Date: 02 Jul 16 - 04:40 PM TV production companies do not allow their staff to read scripts sent in by the public in case an idea is subconciously remembered and used at a later date with associated court case and bad publicity about ripping off the little guy. I suspect that major league musicians have the same advice about songs and tunes sent in by fans. By the way, Mudcat is read by a very very small minority of the folk scene, anybody who expects somebody like Christy Moore to be aware of a post here needs a serious reality check. |
Subject: RE: Christy Moore contact From: GUEST,Peter Laban Date: 02 Jul 16 - 05:07 PM anybody who expects somebody like Christy Moore to be aware of a post here needs a serious reality check. On the other hand, he does post to the forum occasionally and has recorded songs he found here. How's that for a reality check? |
