That must be it - my mind's a total blank after the part I quoted, so the rest doesn't sound familiar, but the first part essentially matches, so I'm sure this is the right one. I regularly pull Mondegreens, so it's not surprising that my version is off! LOL

This song was written and first preformed by the Holy Modal Rounders. You should hear their performance. It's a scream. I used to know Peter Stampfel and the boys, in the late 60s.
