We've run several threads about this, bu it means BULL SHIT......as in sitting around "bull shitting" each other, ie..just talking and giving opinions.

Before long, some dork will arrive on this thread and explain that BS is and has been the downfall of Mudcat, inappropriate in this folk and blues forum, and all that crap. Just ignore it.

If memory serves me right, the original suggestion for "BS" was made by Sandy Paton AS A JOKE! He repudiated it several times to no avail. A lot of people objected to using "BS" to preface something that they thought was worthwhile and interesting (although not music-oriented) and thought it lumped their posts in with the "Why are Americans so fat" or "what's your favourite number" silliness. I've used "NM" (non music) a couple of times. Works for me.

Well, not to throw something serious in here but.......

Max did come up with an easy filter for threads labeled BS that made it easier for those "can't take the time to look through the threads for ones of musical value." So on that basis, I started using it and if it keeps the peace, who cares.

Doug was the guy who was to take care of you, Carol. Well, he was down the chain a link or two. First, I had to die in that horrific traffic accident that you dreamed of in living colour. Second, Rick, who agreed to be number one back up, would have to have been unavailable when you arrived. Then you could have called Doug. He would have helped you make it through the night – grieving over my tragic accident of course.

Doug is really a fun guy when he's not catatonic, just like the rest of us. He took accordion and tap dancing lessons when he was a kid. He thinks the lessons were his parents' plan to humiliate him. He had the good taste to never play the accordion and tap at the same time. The accordion pinched his thighs.

Thanks, I'm glad too. You had me worried. When I called Rick to ask him to cover for your worry that I might died in a crash on the highway, we had an interesting conversation. Part of it centered around Al Cromwell a great Toronto singer-musician who we both knew from years back. What I didn't know was that Al had died about five years earlier. After that conversation I drove with extra care thinking that you might have placed a jinx on me.

Rick is right, Doug, but there's more to it than that. They not only eat too much, they also eat a lousy diet with too much junk food in it, and they lead rather inactive lives (in general). Operating the remote just isn't enough exercise to keep a human body fit on a daily basis, not even when you throw cheesies at the screen because the visiting team just scored! :-) Add to this the drive-in banks and fast food outlets for people who ain't got enough energy to actually get OUT of their car and WALK a few feet! Egad! When will we have drive-in washrooms is what I want to know? "GIVE ME CONVENIENCE OR GIVE ME DEATH" is what Patrick Henry really said...and those heartless redcoats shot him!
