All this talkin' about fakin' the ol' moon landing and such, reminds me that some folks think I faked my own death.

What do y'all think?

Elvis... what time did you leave the beach party Saturday night ? I left around 0630h. Too bad about your guitar, but, like I told you a dozen times, that chic just lost her balance trying to dance in the sand, man. Hey, she busted my lawn chair too when she fell on me. If your still pissed, you can borrow my guitar til you can afford another one.

Ah, the trolls are among us, posting cascading upset instead of starting something positive of their own.

Smart enough today not to fall for it?

It's like my daddy (who is now deceased) once said, he said, I don't care if Elvis is really dead or not... if he wants to be dead That Bad, as far as I'm concerned, he's dead.

Gnu, guinnesschik, everyone-- please, do not engage the complainant. It only results in spreading and cascading upsets.

This does not mean complainant's point, or differing viewpoints, are not being taken. It just means sometimes enough is enough.

'Nuff said.

That's right kids...get your "The Mudcat Deserves Better" stuffed catfish! See as our spokeswoman's hand plays across it's plush blue surface! Perfect for any child!

Squeeze the Mudcatfish's banjo and he will talk! His phrases include "The Mudcat deserves better," "Mudcat deserves better than this," and if you call within the next 5 minutes, receive the special Star Wars-edition "The Mudcat Deserves Better" Catfish, which includes special phrases from Yoda ("Deserves better does Mudcat"), C3P0 ("I indubitable believe that the Mudcat deserves far far better than this, Master Luke!"), Chewbacca ("Rrr ruuuraaa rureeerrr rerrrrur ra riiii") and R2D2 ("beep boopblop beepbeep beepboop blep bleep").

Don't ask it questions--it will never explain it self! Just one continuous mantra of "The Mudcat deserves better!" Remember Tickle Me Elmo? The "The Mudcat Deserves Better" Catfish is your child's every desire! And every parent's nightmare! In some rare cases, the toy's repeated phrase "The Mudcat deserves better" has caused nervous breakdowns in some people. A small percentage of owners have reported it difficult to manage anger after prolonged exposure to the toy, often expressing the fantasy of "smashing it's head in with a ball-peen hammer".

As your local Mudcat site owner if the "Mudcat Deserves Better" Catfish is for you!

This toy is free, since it is made of recycled cloth and animal fur originally sewn and manuafactured in Ireland & Scotland in the 1700's. Well, let's look at this from another perspective.

The death, or lack thereof, of Elvis Presley has long been debated, and continues to be debated. Personally, I'm not sure why, but that's just me. Anyway, the death (or lack thereof) of Elvis Presley gave rise to a whole new industry - the Elvis impersonator. While I believe there were several operating while the King was still alive (so to speak), his alleged death caused the whole impersonator scene to really blow up. The Elvis impersonator industry is really a whole thing unto itself.

Someone covered tribute acts in another thread - I didn't read all of it.

Now, that being said, think about other historical figures who were reported not to have died when the papers said they did: John Wilkes Booth, Jesse James, Anastasia... I'm sure there are more.

And then of course, there's Paul McCartney, reports of whose death in the early 70s were greatly exaggerated.

So we can turn this into an intellectual discourse by asking, what kind of person is it who wants to believe that someone isn't really dead, or what kind of person wants to make a living impersonating such people?

(leave it to an English major...)

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

ROTFLMAO!!!

Guest - I have gotta get me one of them there talkin' catfish that says "The Mudcat deserves better"! In fact I'll order three of them! I am gonna send one to Spaw (who already has a Billy the Talking Bass(tard) proudly mounted on his wall. I am gonna send another to George Bush (he deserves it!). I am gonna ritually execute the 3rd with a 12 gauge shotgun, if I can borrow one from Johnny Death.

Geez. Mudcat does deserve better than this.

But how much better, that is the real question??? I mean, how much better can it possibly get? It's already past the point of all expectation, if ya ask me.
