It has also appeared on a compilation CD of "Celtic" lullabies. The original record has a booklet with Gaelic lyrics and English translations, so you could always try buying it. A generic song title such as Lullaby and Lullaby isn't likely to be easily identifiable by anyone who doesn't have the record from which it came... |

I have it as part of a compilation tape called Celtic Lullaby. I like the singer, so I may end up buying the source album and maybe that will have some info. But althing you can tell me now would be much appreciated. |

The line repeats itself at the end of each verse except leanbh becaome "bhuachaill" in the 2nd verse, "a chailin" in the 3rd verse, and the line for the 4th verse is "A magadh leat a bhimse o oiche go lo"
The liner notes say it is a lullaby from Co. Cork (Bhaile Bhuime). It also points out that there are hints of darkness running through the song warning the child to be on his/her guard.
A rough translation would be 1st verse
I imagine when singing the (THIS) part the singer would do something spooky.
The CD was produced with assistance from teh Task Force for Human Resources, Education Training and Youth, Commission of the European Communities.
