All this stuff in the news about the US trying to come up with a plausible excuse for bombing Iraq reminded me of this Phil Ochs song from 1968. It's not in the D.T., so here are the lyrics.

Yup, Mark, it's a real "déjà vu all over again" situation.

With Ashcroft's 'New McCarthyism' and Dumbya's neo-imperialism, we've got the worst of the '50's plus the '60's.

The saddest note is that the majority of the U.S. electorate has apparently learned not thing one from the mistakes of either decade.

A shame Phil couldn't have hung on a bit longer- he'd have had plenty of work.

Now that M.A.S.H. has been mentioned, Louden Wainwright appeared in a couple of episodes, playing his guitar. Any info on those songs? - you perhaps should reply in a seperate thread... can't find any reference on Mudcat.
