I am trying to find the lyrics and music for a song titled "Bringing Mary Home". It may have been sung by a country singer named Smiley Bates originally from Ontario Canada. The song concerns a young man who picks up a girl on the side of a road and takes her home. When he stops to let her out,she has disappeared. He is then told that she had died in an accident years before and that it was her ghost. Anyway if anyone knows this song I would like to hear from you. Thanks Carl

Carl,

Bringing Mary Home is a song known to have its roots in central New York State not far from my home. Its a famous ghost story that was recorded by Bradley Kincaid and is found on Old Homestaed records and on many bluegrass record. Contact Bill Knowlton % WCNY Radio in Liverpool , New York. He will stear you right for a recording.

Don

Sarah,

Have you tried OLGA (On-line Guitar Archive)? I am looking for the piano/vocal standard musical score. I am transcribing it into what I call "simplified guitar notation".
