Well, personally, I have always questioned who it really hurts. It's promotional advertising, isn't it? And how much money do people lose on "promotional copies" of CDs? I don't think I've ever heard that addressed before.

If people can't hear your music, they won't know if they want to buy it or not, or come to your shows, or tell their friends about you.
