DEar MJ,
The prog you were listening to lat evening was a tribute to the late Tony McAuley, a great TV music producer / singer/ musician with BBC N.I, who died of cancer in early June. The recording of Sliabh Galleon Breas was sung by Tony himself...recorded a year before he died. To optain a copy f the song you could contact
Peter Browne,
Radio 1, RTE,
Dubln 4
who might be able to help you. I do know the song was never released commercially. Hope this helps,
PJC

There's a tribute to Tony McAuley on the BBC Website. You'll find other tributes to him if you do a Google search on his name. He must have been quite a guy. I also found the following refererence..

THE TONY MCAULEY MEMORIAL RECITAL
Featuring AVALON
Venue The Renewal Centre
Adm. £8
Avalon is a Northern Irish ensemble with strong classical and traditional roots. They perform gems of Celtic and American folk and traditional music, interwoven with music by composers such as Bach, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, as well as their own original compositions. Along with violins, viola and cello Avalon performs with uillean pipes, whistle, flute, guitar and bodhran.

Maybe they were the group he sang with? Best of luck with the contact PJ has given you.

Cheers - Sam
