Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: jacqui.c Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:37 AM Everything is fine, so far, I've seen the town of Hertford, thats was 5 minutes of fun. So far, I have restrung Leadfinger's banjo, and according to Jacqui, I neatly and tenderly tuned her guitar. That was Kendall's report. Sin - I'm taking great care of him (we wnat our deposit back - we're a poor nation! - so am making sure he's well looked after. I promised him that I'd take him to Soho to see the sights - more interesting than Hertford! Further report to follow when we have time. |

Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Ellenpoly Date: 15 Apr 04 - 06:03 AM Isn't it more about whether Soho is ready for Kendall?? |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Morticia Date: 15 Apr 04 - 06:32 AM Soho? Dear heavens, you don't suppose Jacqui is going to sell him into a life of prostitution? |

Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Dave Bryant Date: 15 Apr 04 - 07:25 AM Oh, they're easy enough to break off, Freda - the problem is that you have to heat them up to soften the metal first ! Jacqui - you be careful where you take Kendall :-)) |

Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Ellenpoly Date: 15 Apr 04 - 08:26 AM Watch that kind of talk around Kendall, Mrs Duck..xx..e |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: jacqui.c Date: 15 Apr 04 - 02:42 PM I really don't understand what all the fuss is about - Kendall was only just saying how friendly all the nice ladies were up there! They were very interested in the rate of exchange for dollars. Further installment to follow in due course........ |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: jacqui.c Date: 15 Apr 04 - 02:57 PM They did have an unusual interest in my American money. They really liked Ben Frankiln's picture. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Nigel Parsons Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:09 PM Ben 'Frankiln', maybe they were potters? |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: GUEST,MMario Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:17 PM sounds like Kendall - flashing his presidents at the ladies. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Mr Red Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:30 PM Does this mean Chippenham is within your remit? See ya there. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: SINSULL Date: 15 Apr 04 - 06:23 PM Sorry Sorcha. I have been a bit disoriented lately. Comes from getting hit on the head with a desk, I guess. And on the home front: What in the world have you taught this dog, Kendall? I woke up in the middle of the night (my bed was lurching around) to find Seamus flat on the floor under my bed. Seems he wanted to sleep in my room but Ed the cat was at the foot of the bed. Having dealt more than once with Ed's nasty attitude and nastier claws, Seamus decided to go across the room under the bed rather than walk past the cat. BUT as with the desk in the stairwell, the dog didn't fit. And I had to move storage carts filled with spare blankets and sheets to get him out. Wish you could have seen the evil gleam in Ed's eyes. It appears his sole purpose in life is humiliating the dog. Wish he could do it during day light hours. I thought Kendall might decide to fund his trip with some busking or CD sales. Never thought of him as a male prostitute. And the old joke: "Would you got to bed with me for $100,000?" Finish it Captain... |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Deckman Date: 15 Apr 04 - 07:29 PM Ya know Kendall. Once, some years ago, I thought of a neat career change. I thought about becoming a male prostitute, but that idea was short lived. One of my previous wives, or ladies, I forget which, suggested that I'd probably earn what I was worth ... and I'd starve to death!!!! Oh well. CHEERS, Bob |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: jacqui.c Date: 16 Apr 04 - 04:16 AM Reminds me of the guy who came home and found his wife packing a suitcase. He asked "What are you doing?" and she said, "I hear that in Chicago, I can get $50.00 a pop for what I give you for free." He started packing too, and she said, "What are yu doing"? he said, "I'm going to follow you and see how you can live on $50..00 a mont" |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Nigel Parsons Date: 16 Apr 04 - 05:15 AM To finish Sinsull's joke, He: Would you go to bed with me for $100,000 She: Why, certainly. He: Would you go to bed with me for £10 ? She: (indignantly) What sort of girl do you think I am? He: We've determined that, now I'm haggling! And just to clarify the comment above by MMario: sounds like Kendall - flashing his presidents at the ladies. Franklin was only President of Pennsylvania, I believe he's the only person to appear on the front of a current US banknote (US= bill) not to have been President of the US of A (but I'm open to correction) Nigel |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Michael Date: 16 Apr 04 - 05:27 AM 'Open to correction' Nigel? Is that birch twigs or leather? Mike |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Nigel Parsons Date: 16 Apr 04 - 05:30 AM Yes please! |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: pavane Date: 16 Apr 04 - 06:26 AM Re the $100,000, I heard that attributed to GB Shaw (it was a million UK pounds in that version) Does anyone know if that is true, or whether it was already old then? |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Morticia Date: 16 Apr 04 - 06:41 AM I'd heard it as Winston Churchill |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: GUEST,MMario Date: 16 Apr 04 - 08:25 AM *grin* I realized that as soon as I posted... |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Amos Date: 16 Apr 04 - 08:36 AM On thi sside of the water, the punch line has been told as "We've already established that; now we're quibbling about the price!". But in any case I seriosuly doubt a great luminary was involved in the generation of this story; my instinct tells me it was proabbly written in Tin Pan Alley or equivalent. A |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: catspaw49 Date: 16 Apr 04 - 08:42 AM Kendall tried flashing his Privates to the ladies but the laughter was more than he could "bare." I do have it on good authority that Kendall is in Soho to cut a deal for the Llahma and/or the videos of the two of them....... Spaw **I am catspaw49 and I have approved this message.** |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Dave Bryant Date: 16 Apr 04 - 09:54 AM Well Spaw, I hope that Jacqui isn't too disappointed - she had a big grin all over her face when I saw her on Tuesday - presumably in anticipation. You'll also notice that in Kendall's only posting on this thread, he couldn't find the time to reset Jacqui's cookie to his own . . . . . . I think we'll have to keep an eye on the pair of them on Sunday. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Amos Date: 16 Apr 04 - 10:29 AM Spaw: What is it with you and these approval lines on your posts today? A |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Stilly River Sage Date: 16 Apr 04 - 03:21 PM I read through the suggestions that Nigel linked to above, and saw an itinerary note that Jacqui was taking him to Albert Hall last night. What did they see and did they enjoy it? SRS |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: SINSULL Date: 16 Apr 04 - 03:50 PM Spaw is following in the footsteps of our illustrious politicians who now take responsibility for the content of their ads. "I am George Bush and..." And like our illustrious politicians Spaw has no more intention of taking responsibility for his posts than he has of voting republican. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: IvanB Date: 16 Apr 04 - 09:39 PM And, Nigel, since you're open to correction, Alexander Hamilton, whose face appears on the US tenner, was never president either. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Allan C. Date: 16 Apr 04 - 11:45 PM Nigel, you missed the joke. Franklin appears on the 50 cent piece. |
Subject: RE: Sorcha and Kendall Do Britain From: Amos Date: 17 Apr 04 - 01:55 AM From the USGoc site on currency: rrency that is in circulation today? Whose portraits were included on currency notes that are no longer produced? United States currency notes now in production bear the following portraits: George Washington on the $1 bill, Thomas Jefferson on the $2 bill, Abraham Lincoln on the $5 bill, Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill, Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill, and Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill. There are also several denominations of currency notes that are no longer produced. These include the $500 bill with the portrait of William McKinley, the $1,000 bill with a portrait of Grover Cleveland, the $5,000 bill with a portrait of James Madison, the $10,000 bill with a portrait of Salmon P. Chase, and the $100,000 currency note bearing a portrait of Woodrow Wilson. |
