G'day davetnova,

The Klingen Valley (German: Klingenthal) is an important centre for the production of early German accordions, bandoneons and Konzertinas. I think it ended up running across the borders in the East/West Germany era ... and it's around the area of Saxony.

I don't know if, post WallFall, it is a pilgrimage centre for German Trakkies!

Pauline L - In the beginning, there was Star Trek. Star Trek begat "Trekkers" (aka "Trekkies" though the term is generally considered derogatory). Role-playing is an integral part of the Trekker lifetyle and some Trekkers have assumed the roles of Klingons. A fair number of the faux-Klingons are so into their roles that they truly believe they have become Klingons. Since the poor individuals so afflicted have no social life outside of their Trekker subculture, they have filled their empty hours by developing their own spurious language.

It appears that someone who works at Google is a Trekker and has translated Google's opening screen into Klingon, just as it has been translated into French, Portugese etc.

There are no documented incidences of a Klingon oppressing an accordian in Federation space; however, they are often found leaning quite heavily on other Terran instruments. Klingon women in particular appear to enjoy keeping abreast (or two) on the (musical) situation.
