Subject: BS: If Tony Blair were Peter Pan
From: John MacKenzie
Date: 22 Sep 05 - 08:31 AM

I was thinking what a bloody pantomime this government is, and fell to wondering who I would cast as whom, so far I've come up with;

Peter Pan..........Tony Blair
Wendy .............Claire Short
The Crocodile......Alistair Campbell
Tinker Bell........Peter Mandelson
Nana...............John Prescott

over to you.
Giok

PS For our American friends you could cast your Senators etc in a Disney film!

Forget pantomimes. Cast him as "Billy Liar".

Nah, Billy Liar was a harmless buffoon, Blair might well be a buffoon but he's not harmless.

You all have very short memories.

Tell me - what is the credible alternative?

This is not really meant to be a political thread, just a giggle. However in answer to anonymous GUEST, I don't suppose the relatives of the soldiers killed needlessly in Iraq will have short memories. Getting rid of Tony Blair doesn't mean getting rid of the New Tories, which is what your response seems to imply.
Giok

mmmmm....credible alternative-

possibly one where the Prime Minister (not an elected President) listens and is answerable to his cabinet, the government and ultimately the citizens who gave him the "power" he feels so free to abuse.....
ok! call me an idealist......

I think Tony Blair would be excellent cast in the role of Alvin of the Chipmunks.

(The Chipmunk and the Chimp? Great title.)

Surely in the British version, the Crocodile would have to be Jeremy Paxman - Snaps questions and won't let go (can they get Paxo to swallow an alarm clock?).

Well, Paxo is the real hero of the film then! If he stood, I'd vote for him. Personally, I'd shoot Peter Pan anyway. Bloody fairy! If he turns out to be Tony Blair... So much the better! {Evil Grin}

if tony Blair were peter pan
with a little hat and tights
if he flew in chidrens bedrooms
at the very dead of nights
if he pranced around with crocodiles
like in that strange old story
I don't believe I'd give a shit
or think of voting tory.
