Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: Bunnahabhain Date: 10 Dec 05 - 05:55 AM Aberdeen is gray, literally, buildings, pavement, sea, sky are all grey! against all probability at the moment even the light is greyish. It is a very depressing place. Edinburgh is usually pinkish in the summer,(all the luvvies congregating here for the festivl) but is blue in the winter (blue is the colour of the civic christmas decorations!) I always feel that glasgow it the colour of Burberry tartan liberally stained with blood. |
Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: Bunnahabhain Date: 10 Dec 05 - 05:58 AM It's Scotland, it's winter, therefore the colour of the city is black. I didn't write the above, It's just she never bothers to sign in on her cookie to say anything! |

Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: artbrooks Date: 10 Dec 05 - 11:43 AM Jenn says she thinks of Pittsburgh as kind of a silvery-blue, except for Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Of course, IMHO, it looks like this for entirely too much of the year. |
Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: GUEST Date: 10 Dec 05 - 11:46 AM London to me is a rainbow. Garish, majestic, diverse and beautiful. |
Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: gnu Date: 10 Dec 05 - 01:10 PM London... rainbow... neat! Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada is Chocolate, being on the "Chocolate River", the once mighty Peticodiac River, where a tidal bore three feet high or more and over a mile wide would roar in and fascinate. A river that teemed with salmon, trout, shad, dolhins, seals, and others. A river that carried a hundred wooden sailing ships a day. Then, some idiots built a causeway and fucked up the natural order of things. Now it's a few hundred feet of chocolate coloured turbulence, bordered by chocolate colored mud flats that ain't no good fer nothin, a toxic dump and a sewage plant. And the bore is a bore. But hey, our baseball team is called The Moncton Mudcats, so it was all worthwhile, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: Ebbie Date: 10 Dec 05 - 01:19 PM Juneau Alaska is green and gold. Green because of its conifers, and gold- well, because of its street lights which are on all day long all winter. |

Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: GUEST Date: 10 Dec 05 - 10:11 PM Right now I would describe our Twin Towns as white and sparkly. But that's because it is early winter, and the snow is still clean. Come February, it's a much darker place. The color I think of most when I think of St Paul, for some reason, is a sort of slate, or blue-grey. A stormy spring sky sort of color. |

Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: Manitas_at_home Date: 11 Dec 05 - 04:02 AM London is green. There are trees all over the place, more parkland that any other comparable city and odd patches of grass all over the place. Even the inner city has houses with gardens, piazzas and aquares are planted with trees, shrubs and flower beds. Offices have flower boxes on the windows and rooftop gardens. Epping Forest starts only a few miles from the City. |

Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: gecko Date: 12 Dec 05 - 07:28 AM Mother Nature puts on her own special Christmas show at this time of the year with just about everything coming into blossom at the same time - it's beautiful. The brilliant red of the Poinciana and Flame trees is contrasted with great slabs of bright yellow from the Wattles. Purple, pink and white Frangipanni not only delight the eye but also dazzle the nose with heavy perfume. Truly, Cairns, Far Noth Queensland, is a kaleidoscope of colour - pity the weather is so bleedin' hot and humid, but then you can't have everything! Merry Christmas to all YIU gecko |
Subject: RE: BS: What colour is your city? From: mooman Date: 12 Dec 05 - 07:46 AM Brussels is John Major underpants grey, except the very centre where the grey is alleviated by a kind of Edwina Curry hot red. All the above of course speckled with ordure brown spots. At the edge, near the forest, where I live the grey gives way to a multitude of shades of green whilst retaining the brown spots. Peace moo |
