Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: number 6 Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:17 PM a bit taller than Bob Dylan. That's what i heard anyway. six |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Peace Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:19 PM . . . but do you mean Dylan when he was 6'1" or Dylan now? Huh? |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Little Hawk Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:20 PM Dylan used to be able to shape-shift, according to people in the 60's. Maybe he still can. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Peace Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:32 PM I personally saw a telephone pole turn into a police officer one evening. It's amazing the shit ya see in New York. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Ebbie Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:35 PM I seem to remember that Alan Ladd was in actuality 5' 6', which probably means, given spin, that he was 5' 4 1/2" :). Five six isn't all that short, of course, but there are a lot of actresses who would have towered over him. Funny to picture him on a box though- it must have given him the appearance of having mile-long legs. Truth to tell, though, I don't remember anything odd about his closeups. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Cluin Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:35 PM Or in Chicago. I saw a man who danced with his wife. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Cluin Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:48 PM Well, how tall was Errol Flynn anyway? James Arness was very tall. Tim Robbins is pretty tall. And Jeff Goldblum. So is Vince Vaughn. And that wierd Michael Moriarty. Stallone isn't tall at all. Nor is Mel Gibson. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: number 6 Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:52 PM Errol Flynn was actually around 6 feet. With boots on or off ?? sIx |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: frogprince Date: 14 Feb 06 - 11:59 PM Arness is so big they had an oversize colt made for him so it wouldn't look funny in his hand. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Little Hawk Date: 15 Feb 06 - 02:39 AM That was Osama Bin Laden, Peace. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: Jeremiah McCaw Date: 15 Feb 06 - 05:43 AM Five-foot-four is what I've read. Robert Blake refers to it in a scene from an excellent film called "Electraglide in Blue" (early 70's, I think). Not just boxes for close-ups, but apparently they also dug trenches for his leading ladies to walk in to disguise the height differences. Knowing that, it becomes pretty darned obvious watching some of his films. |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: GUEST Date: 15 Feb 06 - 07:37 AM A relative of mine taught him to parachute for a war time movie. He wore lifts in his shoes but was still tiny. (But perfectly formed) |
Subject: RE: BS: How short was Allen Ladd? From: GUEST,Cluin Date: 15 Feb 06 - 11:59 PM So he was just like an actor. Only smaller. |
