Thomas the Rhymer (in addition to Little Hawk)

37. Who has been accused of trying to subvert this joint with his/her ties to the Church of Scientology?

Name a Mudcatter whose real name is a homonym for a non-motorized form of transportation.

Canoer and Canoeman (there seem to be a couple of answers to this).

Severn

Mr Red is certainly the colour co-ordinated one. He's dead easy to spot unless he's hiding in a box of tomatoes.

Geoff the Duck is possibly the least colour co-ordinated person I know. He's colourful, but not co-ordinated.

No, no! The Severn is the river that meets Chesspeake Bay at Annapolis, Maryland. The United States Naval Academy is located "where the Severn meets the tide."

So even though it might be the right answer, it's the wrong question. It should be "American river". (Check with Severn if you doubt me.)

That's Chesapeake Bay, of course. Not Chesspeake. Chesspeake Bay is somewhere else. I think that the Famous Creek flows into Chesspeake Bay.

I was named for a relative who came over from England. I live near enough to the Severn River over here to attend a sing in Annapolis regularly, and have now navigated a narrowboat on the original UK Severn. Not ever
having run aground, the threatened city of
Severn-Upon-Severn never got to be founded on the spot, but I can proudly lay some claim to either body of water, and have gotten somewhat polluted myself on the banks of both.

Which Mucatter is named after her canal boat?

Is Cally Hanna the Catter named after the narrowboat?

Azizi, plutocrats and others who fatten upon sweat of the laboring classes (laboUring classes outside of the US) are ALWAYS bloated. It's like "jumbo shrimp" or "alleged perpetrator" or "gangsta rap" or "blue sky". If you're a member of the ruling class you have "blood-stained hands" as well as most likely being a bloated plutocrat. It's nothing personal. And come the revolution I'll put in a good word for you.

Here's three additional suggestions* that may help reduce confusion for those playing this game or reading the posts about this game:

*Note that I said 'suggestions' and not 'rules'

If you post a question and someone responds to it with the wrong answer, please post a follow-up comment letting people know that that's the wrong answer.

**

If you post a question and someone responds to it with the right answer & a question mark {implying that s/he's not sure that is the right answer}, please post a comment letting people know that that's the right answer.

If you post a question and someone responds to it with the right answer, you don't need to confirm that that's the right answer, but obviously, you can if you wanna.

****

Given statement #2, here's my response to a question that Mo the Caller asked about a question I had posted:

"Which Mudcat Guest has a name which partly evokes a character in a superhero's Rogues' Gallery? '
Has this one been answered yet? Is it Penguin Egg?"

Yes, At least that's who I was thinking of. "The Penquin" is a Rogue in the Batman comics/movies.

Bobert, Bobert, Bobert...

I'm not the decider, but I had hoped that this thread would be non-controversial...

I agreed to compile the questions and correct answers that have been posted here, but how do I know when questions are in jest or serious?

I included a rhetorical questions section in the 'first edition' of the 'Name That Mudcatter' list. But I've since learned through a post that the "Mudcatter who did a Janet Jackson" or some such phrasing was a serious question. And it seems that your question about the prettiest Mudcat female was serious too. Maybe if you had phrased that question 'Which Mudcatter does Bobert think is the prettiest'?, I wouldn't have decided to put it in that addendum to the list. And btw, since you've never seen me or seen a photo of me, I'm not gonna take it personal that I'm not on your list. But others could take it personal, and does that matter or not? After all this is just a game.

But is there a line that we can draw and keep drawn? I personally have no problem with questions like "Who is the strongest Bush supporter on this site" because I'm assuming that person is proud of his or her political stances...but I wondered about the question about the person who worked on Democratic campaigns-is this public knowledge, and does the person want it to be public knowledge? Ditto that question about the one you just asked about the Narcotics agent.
And, I'm sorry, but I think the question about the Mudcatter who is rumored to be on the Bush payroll is beyond the pale [if you pardon my use of that expression].

Please tell me if I'm taking all this too seriously.

But I admit that I am troubled about this religious affiliation question that you posed: "Who has been accused of trying to subvert this joint with his/her ties to the Church of Scientology??? Someone gave the answer upthread. My question is, does this question and response bring up a Mudcat experience that is best left in the archives?

Should we also be asking questions about people's health history. Perhaps you weren't aware that there is a current thread up now about a member who is having Bypass surgery any day now. But even if that thread wasn't up, should that be a legitimate question for this Game?

And what about dissin questions? I personally wish that we would stay away from questions like "Which GUEST,Catter is the most obnoxious???" And yes, I didn't raise concerns about the question someone raised about Martin Gibson, but Bobert, must we do this???

Shouldn't there be a line drawn, and where do we draw the line?

Can't this game be free of rancor?

Maybe no one else shares my concerns, and-though I've joked about this, in all seriousness, I know I'm not the decider of what goes in on thread or not.

But can't we all get along, even on a fun thread?

Can't we all play nice?
