It now belongs, with Jacqui's blessing, to my younger step-daughter in Singapore. It is well loved and still most appreciated. Jacqui if you're reading this thank you once more. We had a question in another thread - are the shawls you've been designing knit or crochet? I think I saw a design recently posted on facebook. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: GUEST,Jack Sprocket Date: 12 Jul 14 - 06:29 PM Back in 2009 when my wonderful friend B was dying, jacqui.c sent her a shawl. It didn't work, we all know shawls can't really cure ovarian cancer. But many, many thanks for trying. |
Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: freda underhill Date: 12 Jul 14 - 09:03 AM Over a year since I looked at this lovely thread, listing dozens of happy shawl recipients from around the world, with shawl stories and photos, and loving messages, including from Katlaughing and 'Spaw. Down here in Oz, we've been having a very cold winter. Every day I've been wearing jacquic's beautiful, dark blue shawl around my neck and shoulders, and inside my coat. Thank you so much, jacqui, your beautiful gift is still being used and appreciated! xx |
Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: wysiwyg Date: 01 May 13 - 01:23 PM Since my posts above I have added two gorgeous shawls to the Mmario shawl I mentioned, from a local church and one down-diocese, as I recovered from surgery and complications. These new ones had prayers knitted into them, so they are warm in several nice ways. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: ClaireBear Date: 10 Feb 12 - 11:51 AM I just received the wonderful Jacqui shawl I received as winner of a Norma Waterson benefit auction. It is a lovely big rectangle of darkest black, punctuated with occasional tiny multicoloured sequins. When I wrap it around myself, I feel as though I am being embraced by the night sky. And just when I could most use a hug, too. Thank you, Jacqui dearest! Claire |
Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: My guru always said Date: 19 Nov 11 - 03:26 AM I could spend all day looking through Jacqui's creative photos but there's not enough time in the day to look at all the beautiful gifts she has created! And where did she find the time to create them? Straw, Kendall, get some straw - if anyone can do it, Jacqui can!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: freda underhill Date: 18 Nov 11 - 10:29 PM Mine has a beautiful, soft light fragrance lingering to it. Maybe a perfume that Jacqui was wearing while she knitted it? freda |

Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: KT Date: 18 Nov 11 - 08:00 PM How have I missed this thread until now? I am, as I write, snuggled in a lovely, cozy blue and white shawl which Jacqui presented to me at my very first Getaway. It's not just its ability to stave off the chill of temps in the teens - It's the love and skill in every stitch and the joy of friendship that keeps me warm when I'm wrapped in it. My two year old granddaughter has kindly shared her beautiful, white, infant-sized Auntie Mudcat Jacqui blankie/shawl with her new baby brother. An heirloom to be handed down to their little ones someday. Thank you Jacqui! Will you please come here and teach me how to do that? |

Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: katlaughing Date: 17 Nov 11 - 03:36 PM I, too, have a Jacqui shawl and also a beautiful, turquoise scarf. I feel quite spoilt, but I love them all very much. Thank you dear lady, sister and friend, and thank you MMario for the beauty and love you brought into my life. luvyakat |
Subject: RE: BS: Handmade Catters Shawl Recipients Club From: Hollowfox Date: 17 Nov 11 - 11:18 AM I just discovered this thread -what a wonderful idea! I got one year before last, I think. It has a permanent place on the living room sofa, so whoever needs it after a hard day, or if they're a bit cold, has it right to hand. Even non-Catters (and non-cats) can feel the caring and affection that went into its making. |
