I am struggling to compose a suitable dedication for a Valentines Day card for the woman I love,I suppose I could ask my wife but I am not sending her one. All I have so far are :-

Valentine,Valentine divine.
Come and put your pyjamas next to mine.

Roses are red,Violets are blue
I bet I can undress faster than you.

Roses are red Violets are blue.
Pig muck smells and so do you.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the same vein, an immortal work-in-progress:

Will you be my Valentine?
Blah, blah, blah,
Your place or mine?

Baby, Baby, hear my plea
Can I climb your mango tree?
Can I clamber up your vine?
Will you be my Valentine?

There's a new dot-com called "PajamaGram" where "sleeping" wear can be ordered and delivered, overnight.

Darling lass, whom I adore,
I will promise not to snore,
Welcome to my bed, dear heart,
If you promise not to fart.

Thus we both will merry be
(I'll be careful when I pee)
And imbibe from passion's cup!
(Not to leave the seat stood up)

While away each loving hour,
(Put the soap back, when you shower!)
Share our joys and share our pain,
(Don't leave pubies in the drain).

Play with me in Cupid's pit,
(Leave the fan on when you shit).
And let me share your precious soul.
(When it's empty, change the roll!)

Let us now, while we are young
Learn to speak in true love's tongue,
And delight in passion sweet!
(But you it is who'll wash the sheets.)

My darling I love you,
It's hard to state.
But come a bit closer,
and I'll demonstrate.

I love you, I love you, I love you almighty,
I wish your pyjamas were next to my nightie.
But don't be alarmed, and don't be misled,
I mean on the clothesline - and not on the bed!

A gem from an Aussie childhood - I had forgotten I even knew it!

Cheers

well dang!!!
folks now-a-days just dont do Valentine like we did as kids...
we would make our own Valentines or buy a box of them (50 for a quarter) and then write the person's name on the small envelope and sign the cards, however you wanted to do so!
your name or SURPRISE!!! or GUESS WHO???
anyway,as soon as it started to get dark we would walk around the neighborhood and put the Valentines on the porch of the home where our dear friends lived!
then we'd jump up and down...make a lot of racket and then run and hide before the porch light came on!
we would watch from behind trees or bushes as out friends picked up the Valentines and took them inside!
ok...i know!!
anyone doing that today would get their head blown off or hassled off by the police dept for scaring the heck out of our neighbors or friends or thinking that we might be causing a riot or something!
Valentine was a COOL DEAL back in the 40's and 50's...
too bad society has changed so much today and TERROR grips our nation to the point that we dare not make a sound anymore, like we did back then...
we never even gave it a thought that the day was made to"make out' with a valentine friend...
oh well...happy belated Valentine to everyone!!!
Tar...

tar heel, we handed them out at school and they were handmade. What I really liked and remember is making a "mail box" out of a shoebox, for everyone to "mail" their valentines to each other in. We'd make them in school, then bring them home to open at the end of the day. Sometimes we would hang them on our bedroom doors at home and put the special ones we'd made for each family member in them; even our mom and dad had one on their door for us to use.

tarheel - Valentines day in my school is Friendship day. If you give to one classmate, you give to all. The distinguishing feature is that some are hand made. The hand made Valentines are usually for someone special.

Needless to say I have a scrapbook full of Valentines made by young children. I will soon retire and I'm sure it will provide much happiness and many memories when I am no longer surrounded by students.

Hey, I like chocolate and roses, too, but lets face it, they do not last forever.

Cindy My darling,
Cindy my duck.
Come into my garden,
And I'll give you a flower.

But, seeing as how it is SAINT Valentine's day, perhaps a more religious poem would be appropos.....

Ashes to ashes,
And dust to dust.
If it wasn't for Cindy,
My pecker would rust.

With apologies to Cindy, Cindy and Cindy.... especially Cindy! Shoulda married her.
