Subject: Lyr: Gin I were where the Gaudie rins From: Henrik Date: 17 Aug 97 - 05:26 AM I have tried without success to find the words to a song called "O Gin I were where the Gaudie rins" aka "Bennachie". The first verse goes something like O Gin I were where the Gaudie rins Where the Gaudie rins Where the Gaudie rins Gin I were where the Gaudie rins At the back o' Bennachie Does anybody know the words for this one? TIA Henrik |
Subject: RE: Lyr: Gin I were where the Gaudie rins From: John Nolan Date: 17 Aug 97 - 10:26 AM I can only remember worthless scraps of it. Hamish Imlach recorded it on XTRA (with great fiddle backing) in the 60s. The same album had 'Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice" and The 37 Bus. (See below) Maybe, with good fortune, Mr. Beaton from New Zealand can recall these words, too. Great song. Great album. |
