Clinton's link takes you to a photo that makes fun of a Down Syndrome person, and it is every bit as objectionable as most racist messages I delete - but at least Clinton acknowledges responsibility for it. Joe, The message I'm getting here is that hate-mongering in the Mudcat forum is OK when done by members who take credit for it, but not OK when done anonymously by guests. It seems to me that hate-mongering is hate-mongering, no matter who does it.
Read my message again, Alonzo. Bigotry is never OK - but it's deleted if it's posted anonymously, since anonymous posters would otherwise escape the social consequences of their bigotry. My method of dealing with it is a judgment call - there certainly are other choices. But no, bigotry is never OK, and I would never imply that it is. You can read whatever you want into my words, I suppose, but I've never approved of bigotry. -Joe Offer-
