At the risk of being called an idiot, I think the Ashkenazim are the lighter skinned narrower nosed, more aristocratic, european Jews while the Sephardim (from shepard I imagine) are the darker skinned farmer types. No doubt that the lighter skin and narrower nose was from miximg Jewish blood with Caucasian blood.
