That's a fair point, Jim Lad. I think Gene has a psychological attachment to trying to do everything in one take with minimal studio "trickery"; which occasionally betrays his limitations as a musician...I think he sees this as conveying greater authenticity, rightly or wrongly. I'll certainly pass the message on, though...although money may well also be an issue, what with no record label backing and, I think, pretty modest personal circumstances.
