OK, in the light of some of the more recent comments I've changed the thread title...can't say I necessarily regret the original title, 'cos I don't think the thread would've received anything like the amount of attention it has done; but where offence has been caused I apologise.

I don't think Gene's all that bothered about playing your kind of festival these days, Beer; and as for my own part I'm just trying to share the music of someone I consider to be a great talent with people who may or may not be interested; clearly, some are and some aren't. I haven't responded to any af the negative/abusive stuff, 'cos 1) why feed the trolls? and 2) Gene ain't bothered, so why should I be? Criticism only merits a response when informed, constructive and reasoned, as with Jim Lad's posting, for example.
