I recognise several of these songs from the 1960s when I was at Trinity Academy Primary School, Edinburgh. One I'd like to find was 'The Neighbours', which so far I have been unable to locate on the web; I think it may be a translation of a French song. Here are the words of the first verse: Bread have we none for supper (Dance as we always do) Over the way they have some May we not have some too? The second and third were similar, beginning respectively 'Wine have we none to cheer us', and 'Fire have we none to warm us'. The last verse was more optimistic and ended: Over the way they're sighing We'll dance the evening through. Ring any bells?
